Poverty is kind to no one, and it can be hard to find the money to give to homeless people asking for it on the street. To reward individuals who take the time and cash to do so, one man decided to take the time — and the cash — to pay them back.
A YouTuber named Yogi dressed up as a homeless man, and stood near a busy intersection equipped with a cardboard sign asking “Are you kind?” When people stopped to give him money, he rewarded those people by giving them $5 cash in return.
In the video, uploaded to Yogi’s YouTube Channel Mad Bam, he tells one driver “I want to thank you for being a thoughtful person. You didn’t have to roll your window down, you didn’t have to give me money, but you chose to do so.”
Other parts of the video show confused, surprised and ultimately, touched and appreciative Good Samaritans.
Yogi wrote in the video description,
“These kind people could have kept their eyes forward and ignored me … Unlike like the hundreds that passed by, these few were giving.”
“I rewarded them for that.”
