When we saw this, we just had to share it with you:
Diane Aulger was two weeks from her due date, but her husband only had days to live.
Mark Aulger was diagnosed with colon cancer last April. He had surgery and went through six months of chemotherapy as a precautionary measure. The treatment seemed successful at first, but Mark’s breathing became labored in early November. The chemotherapy, they discovered when Mark visited the emergency room, had caused him to develop pulmonary fibrosis.
Wanting her husband to be able to see their child once before he went Aulger, who was due on January 29, had her labor induced on January 18. With a bed beside her husband’s the 31-year-old gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, whom her husband was able to hold for about 45 minutes. He was tired, and was only able to hold her a couple more time after that, for a minute or so.
Mark Alger slipped into a coma on January 21, the night after Diane took their daughter home. He passed away two days later.
