Last week in Pensacola, Florida, Rep. Paul Ryan stopped to promote his new book, The Way Forward: Renewing the American Idea. Ryan’s book tour has not been kind to him as he was caught brushing off DREAMers who confronted him with a legitimate question: “Do you want to deport me and my sister?”
Ryan clearly did not care about that question, nor did he care about one asked by an elderly woman as he attempted to use her for a photo-op. The woman attempted to ask Ryan about his proposed $5 trillion tax break for wealthy Americans and cuts Medicare and Medicaid.
Ryan’s handlers quickly shooed the woman away, telling her that “it’s someone else’s turn” before she could finish the question she attempted to ask of the Congressman.
He had what he wanted: a photo.
Perhaps it is crazy–but we think that elected representatives should be accountable for their actions and decisions, and we feel that voters should be given the opportunity to ask important questions like “Why do you want to cut my health care” and “Am I not American enough to be in this country?”
Once again, Paul Ryan has proven that he couldn’t give two sh*ts and a f*ck about accountability, the American people, or responsibility. It’s all about doing favors for his rich friends.
Cowardice is a Teapublican’s best friend.
