Keep a box of tissues handy, because this is one of the most touching things you will ever see!
[“What would you do if you saw a freezing child?
We set up a hidden camera and placed Johannes at a bus stop, in Oslo, Norway. This is what happened.”]
What happened, was beautiful. As the eleven year old boy sat at the bus stop rubbing his arms, a number of refreshing and tear-inducing acts of human kindness occur as complete strangers give up their coats, gloves, and scarves to help Johannes survive his frigid wait at the bus stop.
The video was a hidden camera experiment by the Norwegian charity SOS Children’s Village as part of a campaign to gather donations to send coats and blankets to help Syrian children get through the winter. Many refugees left their homes without winter clothing.
As we watch person after person make sacrifices so that Johannes will suffer less, we need to consider what we could accomplish if 10% of the kindness expressed by complete strangers would be applied to helping the children of our nation. Every single American politician needs to watch this video before voting to cut food stamps or unemployment.
Currently, more than 16 million children in the United States–almost one-fourth–live in poverty.
Watch this. You won’t regret it:
