It’s a different kind of Christmas, but it’s still Christmaaaassss…
Sam Biggs decided to add a bit of extra holiday cheer to his Christmas this season. While working at a charity gift wrapping stall, Biggs opted to break up his days through the use of cocaine, LSD and ketamine, also known as “special-K.”
Recording the experiences for posterity and for Youtube, Biggs can be seen here getting into his own Christmas spirit as he engages with the public, wrapping gifts through the buzz, trip and fog of his various indulgences.
Whether bouncing about on his feet and pondering another bump or line of cocaine, or staring wide-eyed at the colorful patterns of holiday wrapping papers set out before him, Biggs’ experiences while working over the holiday season were a special kind of jolly. In the course of conversations (both with patrons of the booth as well as with himself,) Biggs positively vibrates with the type of Christmas spirit one might expect to find more in a Hunter S. Thompson novel than any traditional Dickens.
Borrowing from the American vernacular, it is safe to say this is not Biggs’ first rodeo. Earlier in the year, another of his “Drugs at Work” videos made some waves through the internet, with Biggs high on marijuana, ecstasy and magic mushrooms giving advice to the British public while posing as a public works employee.
It is estimated, according to a 2012 study, that upwards of 1 million Brits go to work with some form of illegal drugs in their system. While not the standard by which to judge, if Biggs is any example at all, it can be theorized that at the very least, most of them are having a good time on the clock, if not merely doing so when not.
