Jimmy Kimmel has once more taken to the streets of Hollywood to demonstrate the gullibility of the American people and how even in death, Steve Jobs can sell water to a drowning man.
His crew took a $20 Casio watch to Hollywood Boulevard with an Apple logo pasted to the back of it and told random passersby that it was an advance sample of the anticipated iTime smart watch. The results were predictable; Jobs was such a talented marketer that people cannot wait to get their hands on even the most mundane product, no matter how overpriced as long as it bears an apple with a bite missing.
Among the things that they found impressive was the rubber wristband, the fact that it was water-resistant, has a stop watch feature and displays not only the time (in hours, minutes and seconds!) but as well as the date. And let’s not forget that it includes an alarm at no extra cost.
One woman was really impressed that it was always in airplane mode, noting that it would extend battery life.
The most telling remark made was the man who said, “I just like that it has an Apple insignia on the back” — where no one will see it unless he takes it off.
Watch below and enjoy a good laugh.
