Watch The Daily Show Annihilate Fox ‘News’ For Berating Minimum Wage Workers

Fast food workers in cities all over the country went on strike this week to protest poverty wages and fight for the right to unionize.  The strike, as well as discussion about a minimum wage increase by lawmakers like Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) over the last several months, were the newest catalyst for Fox ‘News’ hosts to once again unleash their hate and vitriol against low-wage workers and the poor.

John Oliver from The Daily Show responded brilliantly to their callous tirades on last night’s show.  Watch!

PART 1:

“Fast food workers demand increased wages and financial analyst Neil Cavuto shares details of his first job.”

“Fox News pundits bemoan fast food workers mooching paychecks from their employers in exchange for the work they just have done for them.”

Americans Against The Tea Party is a group committed to exposing the Tea Party’s lies, violence, racism, ignorance, intolerance, bigotry, and corporatist fascist efforts to subvert our democratic process – and we are organizing to defeat Tea Party/GOP candidates on ballots everywhere.

And now… Cavuto rakes in a boatload to be a giant douche, broadcasting unadulterated stupid for a living. I’m not sure anyone should necessarily aspire to that. Fox is the place where idiots lacking a discernable skill set land, selling their souls to Roger Ailes i exchange for infamy without batting an eyelash.

Those people are seriously sick in the head. They should work a minimum job for 2 weeks just to see how it feels.

I seriously doubt he was in management at 16.

Communism is NOOOOOOTTTTTTT the same as Socialism!

    • Bob Cull

You haven’t figured out that facts have no meaning to Teapubs, Tyler? There is a really big difference between fascism and communism and socialism, yet every day I hear some Teapub screaming that the President is a “fascist, communist, socialist” who is inflicting his “totalitarian” agenda on the nation. What do you expect from people who disdain education?

Gandalf has spoken, and I believe he is right!

      • https://www.facebook.com/tyler.buchman Tyler

ya but it was Jon Oliver who used them interchangeably, not the Teapubs :/ and i dont think it’s the first time The Daily Show has made that mistake either…

        • Bob Cull

Are you communicating across dimensions from Bizzaro Earth, Tyler? I watch the Daily Show every day and I have never heard John Oliver or Jon Stewart conflate those terms, they are much too intelligent to do that, they are very much aware of the differences and have ridiculed the Teapubs for it on numerous occasions.

I interact on other online forums, in real time, with Teapubs regularly and I can assure you that they not only use all three terms to refer to those who disagree with them they frequently use them in the same sentence. I promise you they did not get any of their talking points from the Daily Show, they are so stupid that they call it “fake news” which of course it is not, it is a humorous look at the real news.

They will also be glad to tell anyone who tries to point out to them that these are opposing ideologies how stupid they are and that these ideologies are almost identical! But I guess it is only something to be expected from people who sneer at education and teachers, claiming that it is snobbish to educate oneself.

      you are waiting yo
ur breath trying to educate dumb ass yanks about the difference btwn socialism n communism.

I agree that fast food jobs should just be a stepping stone to bigger and better things. Unfortunately the USA keeps sending jobs overseas and that makes it harder to get a livable wage. Not all people can afford collage, choose to go into debt for it, or are actually capable of achieving it. Something needs to be done so people can live, support their families, and not have to work themselves to death by working more than one job so they can spend time with their families.

I cannot be, because there are fewer positions available to move up into than there are those in the minimum wage jobs, not to mention the majority of people in our nation lack the proper education to move beyond it. It is once again the republican hypocrisy. No sex education, biirth control, or abortion, but the woman keeps having children. I wonder why? No money for education, no grants, no spending controls on education, no financial aid help, and higher education should not be for everyone, but minimum wage jobs are only stepping stones. Makes total sense.

You read my mind! There are only so many management positions so there is no way everyone can ‘move up’, in addition not all fast food companies pay their management salary & the hourly rate is only about $9.50 depending on the state.

What happens when you’ve worked your butt off at Wendy’s for 6 years and you only make $8.75 an hour? The typical increases at these jobs are $0.25 an hour or less. Management will do whatever they can to give you less, no matter how hard you’ve worked. Several years ago Wal-Mart adopted a ‘pay scale’. Each job in the store is assigned an hourly wage based on a sliding scale. They will routinely switch workers around to give them less pay, example: you’ve worked at the store for year and last week you got a $0.25 an hour increase. This week they move you to another department where the salary is $0.25 an hour less so your raise is obliterated.

The main thing you said is “sending jobs over seas”

The conservative plan for a third-world America is going exceedingly well.

PAWNED!!! Cavuto is a Moron. Best part of this is that the Fox viewers actually listened to this vomit and thought “I think he is absolutly right! PATHETIC!!!

  • dragontech64

These Fox talking heads have no idea what challenges are facing the minimum wage workers these days. And that stupid broad, calling raising the minimum wage a “handout” and a benefit, claiming it should not go up over time, seems to forget that thing called inflation. ALL food workers should ensure these jerks get the “special sauce” on their sandwich. No dirtbags deserve it more than these jerks, except for the executives of those same fast food giants.

  • Juliet

$250K is equal to 10 years of my salary.

The only way for it not be a livable wage is to live in some incredibly expensive city, in the expensive neighborhoods, and fully cooperate in the game of ‘Keeping up with the Joneses.’

    • https://www.facebook.com/this.girl.loves.the.80s Angelique J.

Agreed. I couldn’t have said it better myself.

  • Joe D

love the clip from 2010 where the lady tried to equate 250,000 as poverty line . To her if se reads these comments. College education will be paid by the Feds if a person enlists in the Military. Sorry the top 1% would never serve with the other 1%

  • Bob Cull

Cavuto is one of Faux News’ lowest dirt bags! If he doesn’t know that he is spouting garbage, then he is just plain stupid. I think that he is well aware of exactly what he is doing, he just doesn’t care. He’s got his from his corporate masters and to hell with those who never will have anything BECAUSE of him and his masters.

    • https://www.facebook.com/THE.Evil.Steve Steve Joseph

I agree. I pity the poor kids working under him as manager at that Arthur Treacher’s. He’s the sort of kid who’d remind the teacher she forgot to assign the class its homework.

      • Peter Schiff

“He’s the sort of kid who’d remind the teacher she forgot to assign the class its homework.”

I seriously hope you don’t think that’s a bad thing.

      • elmo

He’s the kind of manager, when I was working as a kid ,who you would kick his butt after work.

It’s been shown that the more one has the less they are willing to part with…for many. Were I rich, I’d be looking for ways to share it with others and help as I have done throughout my life. MOney doesn’t make someone happy, it’s what you can do with it that does. I’d ADORE the ability to aid the impoverished more than handing a $5 bill to a man with a sign that reads HUNGRY that everyone is ignoring…except me.
