Former Reagan “Economic” Adviser Art Laffer sat across from FOX Hack Neil Cavuto on Friday to join the throngs of good “Christians” that are spitting at the Central American immigrant children.
While sitting with Cavuto on Friday’s show, Laffer took the time to demonize the Central American children at the border, using them to make a case for mass deportation and border militarization. He touched on all the usual talking points, and proved that any shred of humanity that may have existed in the movement that William F. Buckley, Jr. and Barry Goldwater helped to shape is finally, and truly, dead.
Among the things Laffer said was that the immigrants would all ultimately want citizenship and that they’re all coming here for welfare, so we must, of course, fly them all back immediately lest they take up any of our resources:
You can’t give away something for free and not expect it to be overused and overtaken, and giving all these people US access, 57 thousand of them, you said, and they all get welfare, and they all get spending, and they’ll ultimately citizenship or whatever else it is. You can’t do that. I mean, otherwise, we’ll have 570,000, 5.7 million, it won’t stop as long as we’re giving away those resources. And we’ve gotta stop it.
. . .
It really sounds ugly saying more troops on the ground on the border between the US and Mexico. But what you have to do is make it so that these people don’t get free goods when they get here. And to abandon your children on the border, in an US border town, is just disgusting, I think.
Want to know something that’s even more “disgusting” than that? Sending these innocent children back to be tortured and killed in their native country after their parents worked so hard to ensure that they’d escape from that life. How very “pro-life” of these conservatives to so casually present such a horrific option.
But it’s not all bad. Laffer supports open borders for employment, but objects to open borders for welfare. In his eyes, these children — and children in general — are worthless resource sinkholes.
Because if the GOP isn’t using their anti-choice platform to make certain every kid is born so women face serious repercussions for wanting to express their sexuality, or aren’t old enough to be cannon fodder in the latest neo-con war effort, what use are they?
