Is that “Saturday Night Live” alum Tina Fey playing the former governor of Alaska and ex vice-presidential candidate or is that Sarah Palin playing Tina Fey?
The answer is: both!
On this year’s SNL Christmas edition, Fey resurrected her spot-on Palin impersonation for a “Hillary Christmas” skit with Amy Poehler impersonating the 2008 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, and Kate McKinnon as the 2016 Clinton.
Two days later, Palin, 51, introduced herself as Lynn Melon in a Web spoof of Fey’s “30 Rock” NBC hit.
Former cast member, Kevin Brown who played Dot Com in the real sitcom, is a supporting character alongside of Palin in “31 Rock.”
Palin is promoting her new book “Sweet Freedom” with the Web video spoof.
Brown describes the book as “a great reminder of the pressures of PC culture.”
Dressed in a hoodie and in search of a Big Gulp, Palin touches her laptop and tells Brown:
“The only PC I need is right here.”
Both former Republican presidential candidates Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and John McCain of Arizona make cameo appearances.
McCain selected Palin for his running mate in his failed 2008 campaign.
Palin supports Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s plan to ban all Muslims from entering the country and defended him to CNN’s Jake Tapper:
“I think that Trump was trying to finish the conversation that would lead to a pause on immigration in general. I think that’s where he was going.”
Palin hasn’t endorsed a Republican candidate for the 2016 presidential race, but leans toward Trump or Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas:
“I’m not going to pick one right now, but what a nice problem to have if it came down to Cruz and Trump. That’s a good problem for voters to have, because we know that, as you say, they are both strong and very decisive and someone who would take the initiative. That is what we need today, and both of those candidates would fit that bill.”
Independent Journal, a political video production company, did the one-minute Palin trailer as well as Lindsey Graham’s viral hit “How to Destroy Your Cell Phone With Lindsey Graham.”
