Tail Gunner Ted Cruz’ father, Raphael Cruz spoke with Glenn Beck recently and demonstrated just why his son has such a delusional view of our nation.
He told Glenn that we have what he called a “ministry of disinformation” which is disseminating propaganda to us and will, if allowed to do it, destroy it. This “ministry,” he says, is the “liberal media.” They have, according to Cruz, an “evil agenda.”
He said, “I’ll tell you what, it almost seemed like I was listening to what was happening in Cuba during Castro. The very same thing, the ministry of misinformation that you have in all the communist countries. Well did you know, Glenn, we have a ministry of misinformation in this country? It’s called the liberal media, and they just tell us what they want us to hear. They are rewriting history.”
This coming from a man whose son designed and executed a shutdown of the government and then proceeded to tell us that it was the President and Senate Democrats who did it. Who is it that is rewriting history?
Raphael has in the past spoken of his son saying that he has been anointed, by God, to go to war against the enemies of the righteous and “bring their wealth, the spoils of war, to the priests.”
Raphael is a one time supporter of Fidel Castro who was imprisoned in Cuba in 1957 by former dictator Fulgencio Batista, where he was beaten and tortured for his revolutionary activities. One would suppose that he would be opposed to those who would impose their will on others, but apparently it is okay as long as he agrees with the tyrants–it is only objectionable when it is someone other than his son and others of like mind.
Of course he is Glenn’s kind of people. He wishes to bring about the end times to impose a theocracy, and sees his son as God’s tool to bring this about. It must be wonderful to be the father of the savior of the world; it certainly would be a coup for any fundamentalist preacher like Raphael.
Glenn also backs him up on his claim that the “liberal media” does not report facts by citing the fact that Time Magazine, in its Year in Pictures, ignored the TEA Party–which he terms as a “huge, huge movement.” Glenn’s huge movement comprises about 18% of American voters. This is another example of a group of radicals who think that the fact that they are very vocal translates to large numbers when in fact they are a very small minority.
