The police are sworn to serve and protect, and to uphold the law. The idea of a police officer that doesn’t respect the highest law of the land, the Constitution, is anathema.
And yet, that’s exactly what one New Jersey police officer was caught on video arguing in a municipal building. Since President Obama apparently doesn’t follow the Constitution, the officer felt that he shouldn’t have to, either.
Cameraman Steve Wronko was doing an investigation in the public building when Officer Richard Recine tracked him down to ask who he was and what he was doing there. Wronko repeatedly asserted his First Amendment right to be there and film, but Recine didn’t believe him, asserting that he didn’t have to respect Wronko’s first amendment rights, saying:
“Obama has decimated the friggin’ Constitution, so I don’t give a damn, ’cause if he doesn’t follow the Constitution, we don’t have to.”
Police Director Robert Manney appeared in the video too, but after Recine had made the remarks. Upon learning about the remarks, Manney called it an “embarrassment.”
NJ Cop caught on camera.
