Ukraine has been at the forefront of world news. As usual, partisan factions back in the U.S. are fighting for what the narrative should be regarding yet another foreign crisis.
Who better than Jon Stewart to break down the silliness of these narratives?
Of course, Republicans are headlining their narrative with the name of Ronald Reagan, and Stewart did a brilliant job of slamming Fox News for their blaming the Ukraine crisis on Obama’s “failed leadership” — claiming that if Reagan was at the helm, things would be different because he’d “take action.”
Of course, Reagan “took action” when he was in office. Now, that action may have brought us the Mujahideen in Aghanistan (which he armed and funded), which later gave us Al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden, or Saddam Hussein’s chemical weapons (yup, supplied by Reagan), or the death squads that roamed Central America, killing innocent civilians and a few Catholic nuns and priests for good measure…
