The CBO was released recently, announcing that that Americans would no longer have to work as many hours to pay for their health care as a result of the Affordable Care Act, and that those work hours would now be available to those people who are now unemployed. In other words, people would be choosing to quit second jobs to spend more time with their families.
Predictably, right-wing politicians and conservative television hosts went into full core meltdown, saying that the ACA would encourage Americans to take from the government who preferred spending time with families rather than working a second job. The nonsense got piled so high, that Jon Stewart’s The Daily Show decided to devote a section of air-time to the spin-doctoring and called it “Bull#%&t Mountain.”
