Governor Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) made a comment about the hatred of ultra conservatives in New York state Saturday on a radio program broadcast by WCNY. Cuomo said, “Who are they? Are they these extreme conservatives, who are right to life, pro assault weapon, anti-gay, is that who they are? Because if that is who they are, and if they are the extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York because that is not who New Yorkers are.”
Sean Hannity, commentator at Fox News, predictably twisted that to mean the governor was insinuating that they should leave the state, rather than as a comment about defining the Republican Party within New York. Hannity said, “Governor, you don’t want me, come on this program and tell me specifically why I’m not allowed to be here.”
Jon Stewart and company responded to that question, creating a presentation by the famous, the gay, the minorities, the fabulous, all of whom the ultra conservatives have worked so hard to disenfranchise, begging Hannity to stay in New York.
Watch this hilarious clip, finished by Tony award-winning Nathan Lane’s snark drizzled parting shot, “On second thought, who gives a *&^% what you do.”
