Janet Porter of the conservative Christian organization Faith2Action is no stranger to controversy, probably because she has no aversion to making outrageous and just plain false claims about anything of which she does not approve. In the past she has claimed that the “homosexual agenda” has as it’s ultimate goal the criminalization of Christianity. Of course, her particular brand of “Christianity” has nothing to do with the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth, who taught love and tolerance. Her brand teaches hatred and intolerance.
Her organization posted a video to Youtube at one time titled, Heather has Two Cigarettes which was in fact an attack on homosexuality, and made ridiculous claims comparing smoking to being gay and saying that being gay was a greater threat to ones health than smoking is. According to this video, gays are more susceptible to STDs than their straight counterparts, and more likely to contract AIDS, a “fact” that was long ago debunked, since most cases of AIDS worldwide are heterosexuals who contracted the disease through heterosexual relations. The video lasted about four hours before Youtube took it down as hate speech, and it suffered the same fate when they attempted to post it on Vimeo. Her reaction was to claim that Youtube was biased against Christians since they allow a video called I Hate Christians to remain up while taking theirs down. That video is indeed posted under that title but is actually an innocuous statement of why the poster, Jacklyn Glenn doesn’t like a lot of people who call themselves Christians, yet display nothing but hatred and bigotry. I guess that’s why Ms. Porter finds it objectionable, since it is a perfect description of her.
Now she is claiming that somehow conservatives are going to be targeted for extermination through Obamacare. Her reasoning is that the IRS is going to be administering the non-existent “death panels” and they have already displayed an animosity toward conservatives with the “targeting” of conservative 501(c)3 organizations. At a recent Tea Party rally she said:
Our very lives are at stake. Not only are we paying for the abortion mandates, we’ve got IRS sitting on the death panels. Sarah Palin was right, they are going to decide who lives or dies. If they use the same tactics, we are all dead. If the IRS treats health care like they treat the Tea Party, we are all dead.
She is never one to let mere facts get in the way of what she wants people to believe, remember this is the woman who predicted that Obama would meet with Bin Laden and basically sell out to him. One would hope that she is not still waiting for that prediction to come true as it may be a bit difficult since the President authorized his killing quite some time ago. Now it is the “death panels” on steroids, panels of IRS officials deciding that it will be only conservatives who will be denied medical care under the dreaded ACA.
One has to wonder how many times these people will have to be told in no uncertain terms that there is nothing in the law that provides for any sort of rationing or so called “death panels” before it finally sinks in. How many ways are there to say it? They don’t exist, they never were proposed, they never will exist, it just isn’t true.
