Well, a lot is apparently not.
Watch Fox News’ Fox & Friends co-host Steve Doocy set a ridiculously high standard for weekly job claims, lying through his teeth.
On the news report about the Department of Labor’s latest releases of weekly first time unemployment claims, Doocy gave an accurate number of claims at 323,000 which was down from the previous week and lower than what economists had forecast and expected.
Doocy then added his own personal touch and said:
That is a lot.
Meaning the numbers were down a lot. Not quite, dummy. Note that, according to economists, the number mentioned, 323,000 a week is arguably a piece of evidence that the jobs situation is “close to full employment.” See the numbers here on An Economic Sense.
