Remember that deranged police chief that used guns his constituents paid for to make strange, threatening pro-Second Amendment videos? Remember how he became an Internet sensation when the town he worked for had their underwriters threaten to pull the plug if he wasn’t removed from office? Well, ex-Gilbert, PA police chief Mark Kessler has tasted the limelight and he apparently loved it. Just a couple weeks after being finally terminated for his outlandish, dangerous and frankly menacing videos Kessler has decided to run for sheriff of Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
It’s hard to imagine how the man who became famous for making videos in which he proclaimed, “F*ck all the Libtards,” could think himself right for a job like sheriff. He’s the same man who shot up scary-clowns named “Nancy” in honor of Rep. Nancy Pelosi, and generally just went-off on liberals, always capping his rants with images of him discharging his guns into targets with the implication of that imagery not being too hard to figure out for yourself.
The gun debate has many passionate views. There’s nothing wrong with a healthy debate in this country about any topic, but Kessler doesn’t represent healthy debate. He represents the tyranny of the gun-obsessed. He represents what happens when someone buys into all the insane conspiracy theories about liberals hunting down gun owners and ripping their firearms out of their hands. It’s one thing to be an advocate for Second Amendment rights, and it’s another thing entirely to make threatening videos implying that all people who hold certain political views are just fodder for target practice.
Do you think Mark Kessler has a chance at winning the election for sheriff?
