NY Democratic Representative Sean Patrick Maloney finally tied the knot with his long-time partner, designer Randy Flourke, on Saturday night.
The couple announced in their statement:
“Even after 22 years together, we’re overwhelmed by how blessed we feel to celebrate this special day with our friends and family.”
The happy duo was married at the Church of St. Mary-in-the-Highlands in Cold Spring, where they live with their three children.
“With our three kids by our side, this couldn’t have been a more perfect day. Thank you to all our friends near and far for their love and support as we continue to fight to ensure all families can experience the joys of a lifetime commitment.”
Maloney is the second member of Congress to legally marry his partner while in officer. The first was former Rep. Barney Frank, who married carpenter Jim Ready in 2012.
We are eagerly awaiting the conservative response to a Democrat marrying someone of the same sex in a church.
