A group of Canadians who are upset of the tyrannical water shut offs happening in Detroit have decided to take the matter into their own hands.
Nearly a dozen vehicles donning Canadian flags arrived in Detroit with 260 gallons of water for residents in need.
The city is currently in a “15 day pause” of water shut offs allowing residents who are at risk to seek information, pay their bills or learn about payment programs in order to keep their water turned on.
Yet the pause does nothing for those already affected by the inhumane and aggressive efforts by the city and it seems that our neighbors to the north have had enough.
When aid for these residents has to come from outside the US, it is a sure sign there is trouble in the US. Water is seen around the world as a human right, yet in the US we have turned it over to capitalism and now access to clean water is a privilege.
Thankfully, our communitarian neighbors to the north understand human decency and offered, at the very least, a partial solution to some families.
Thank you, Canadians!
