Responding to the
airheads anchors on Fox News Outnumbered who opined that women actually enjoy being harassed by catcalling men, Jessica Williams of The Daily Show brilliantly smacked down the “one lucky guy” of the day Arthur Aidala who demonstrated to them his “proven” method of “classy” catcalling.
Aidala stood and did a slow rhythmic clap which he claims has a 90 percent success rate in garnering a smile from the target of his harassment.
“Those smiles,” she told him, “do not indicate a 90 percent success rate.”
Jon Stewart, of course asked her what it does mean if not success.
“You know what, Jon, it means that the woman is trying her best to end this interaction,” she told him. “Because if she doesn’t smile he might tell her to smile. If she tells you to leave her alone you’ll probably call her a bitch. And I know he thinks he’s different, that he’s classy, he’s charming but since going to work isn’t a performance we’re not looking for applause and what he’s doing is basically just a high minded Lincoln Center version of ‘hey sweet tits.'”
