On Wednesday Governor Jan Brewer, faced with threats of Arizona boycotts and even the loss of the Super Bowl, saved some face by vetoing the “religious freedom” legislation that would have allowed fake Christians the freedom to discriminate against anyone they wanted, as long as they can wrap that discrimination within the all-encompassing shield of “faith.”
Brewer’s decision to veto the bill, while not based in anything resembling tolerance or understanding, was a huge relief to Arizonans whose lives would be negatively altered by the bill. However, Brewer has managed to alienate her base.
The folks over at Glen Beck’s “news” site became incensed at the announcement. Let’s see what they had to say:
Yes, that’s right…even this has dissolved into a Muslim hate fest. A perfunctory viewing of the Blaze audience’s reactions to the news allows us to know one thing for sure (though, we already knew this): that law would have been a disaster as long as people like this exist in our society.
We’ll talk about a “religious freedom” bill when the Blaze audience can be responsible with it–in other words, never.
