In comparison with neighboring Minnesota, the residents of the Badger State could be paying 75%-99% more for single coverage health insurance exchange premiums.
Well, fiscally conservative Scott Walker has rejected federal dollars through enhanced Medicare funding and the Republicans of the state refuse to oversee rate regulations.
So Wisconsin, enjoy the freedom of paying more than other folks led by Governors who will accept federal money.
Walker was warned that by rejecting the Medicare expansion funds, it would cost the citizens of Wisconsin millions.
But the Governor plans to offset this huge financial loss by keeping more poor folks from getting coverage and driving existing monies to insurance companies and health care providers.
Right from the GOP handbook. Hurt the most vulnerable and divert money to the wealthy.
Walker is having a bad week. His book launch is scheduled for November 19th, but the hype for the ghost-written tome has to compete with all the investigations Walker is facing.
Currently a special prosecutor is looking into possible corruption in regards to the special recall election that allowed Walker to keep his job as Governor. The investigation has been expanded to probe into a wide variety of state issues.
Too bad there isn’t a Special Prosecutor for mismanagement and rejecting federal funds to help the citizenry.
