The Dallas Morning News reports that an employee at the Frisco Gun Club in Frisco, Texas shot himself in the hand while trying to fix a jammed Ruger 9 millimeter hand gun. The incident occurred within 24 hours of the club’s opening their doors.
“On the evening of December 14, 2013, while assisting a member with a jammed firearm, an experienced range officer at the Frisco Gun Club slightly injured his hand when the firearm accidentally discharged while pointing downrange,” a statement from a club official said. “The range officer was transported to Medical Center of Plano, where he was treated and released for injuries which were not life threatening. No other patrons or staff were injured in this incident.”
Billing itself as the country’s largest gun club, the club’s website boasts an executive chef, numerous stone fireplaces and high backed, if not abundantly padded leather chairs and an overall decor reminiscent of the early 70’s.
