Someone PLEASE get Steve Stockman a warm bottle and some diaper rash cream for his massive case of political butt-hurt already will you? It’s bad enough that the TEApublican congressman from Texas hasn’t shown up to work for weeks without explanation while still collecting a pay check, but it’s even worse to then show up at the State of the Union address and storm out in a fit because you don’t like what you’re hearing. Seems like Congress would have been the best place to air his views, but he’d actually have to show up to work for that now, wouldn’t he?
“Tonight I left early after hearing how the President is further abusing his Constitutional powers,” Stockman whined to the Dallas Morning News. “I could not bear to watch as he continued to cross the clearly-defined boundaries of the Constitutional separation of powers. Needless to say, I am deeply disappointed in the tone and content of tonight’s address.”
The tone and content of the address that he walked out on half way through and didn’t bother to hear through till the end before deciding on what to make of it? Oh yeah, THAT address, right. Then came more of the standard Tea Party snake oil where TEApublicans take everything they are doing wrong, and just throw it back into the media with Obama’s name attached to it.
[box type=”shadow”]After five years in office Obama refuses to admit his policies have failed. He instead demands we double down on the bitter class warfare that has left Americans jobless and hopeless.
Obama’s plan for higher taxes and more spending is a blueprint for perpetual poverty. The last thing America needs is more of the Democrats’ class warfare that has left our economy a barren landscape.
Even worse, Obama has openly vowed to break his oath of office and begin enacting his own brand of law through executive decree. This is a wholesale violation of his oath of office and a disqualifying offense.[/box]
When Steve Stockman can show up to work and actually earn his pay check, instead of lying about where he’s been and what he’s been doing, then maybe he might have a leg to stand on when criticizing the president. But storming out in the middle of the most important speech of the year for the entire country, well, there’s not a single excuse for that display of bad manners Mr. Stockman.
You’re mother clearly didn’t raise you right, Sir.
