A Cameroonian teenage girl, “Antoinette,” was discovered at a housing estate in a suburb in Paris, France, bound to a mattress “in the position of Christ.” She was emaciated, had been beaten, and was suffering dehydration and shock. She had been kept alive on a diet of small amounts of water and oil for one week.
Her (now) former boyfriend with delusions of being a divine prophet, it seems, had become convinced that she was possessed after “Antoinette” allegedly “leapt on (him) while babbling incomprehensibly,” which is either a sign a person is possessed by the Devil…or that the guy is such a gigantic douche that it was probably just a completely understandable expression of anger of such an intensity that she temporarily lost the ability to formulate a coherent thought. Since he is the latter, he assumed the former.
The idiot religious fanatic rounded up three of his disciples, all of whom were expelled from the 7th Day Adventist church in 2010, as the church disagreed with their opinion that exorcism is the answer to…well…anything. They proceeded to torture and starve her for week.
The four deny any acts of violence, and purport she consented to the exorcism.
They face kidnapping and torture charges. Court resumes on Friday.
