TEApublicans: We’ll stop calling you RACISTS when you stop doing THIS!

Danny Hafley is a TEApublican racist who says of his racist effigy of President Obama, “That’s my buddy.  He don’t talk.  Don’t make no smart comments.”

If I had a dollar for everyone who stopped and took a picture of it, I’d be a millionaire.

The watermelon made its first appearance after Obama was reelected.  Prior to that the mannequin held up a sign that read, “In another 4 years, this will destroy us.”  Asked about the watermelon Hafley responded, “[I thought he] might get hungry standing out here.”

Two things, Hafley:  Nice trailer home and you suck at math.

Americans Against The Tea Party is a group committed to exposing the Tea Party’s lies, violence, racism, ignorance, intolerance, bigotry, and corporatist fascist efforts to subvert our democratic process – and we are organizing to defeat Tea Party/GOP candidates on ballots everywhere.
  • BLH

I forgot to mention maybe he’s really living in the past. Just because it was doesn’t mean it is. Lincoln had a difficult time dealing with his own feelings of prejudice back then but at least he was “honest” (oh ha ha) about it & did deal with it. I can’t think he really believes that Ryan for one is the same face of the GOP as Lincoln WAS. That was then. Otherwise we’d have so many black Republicans in office but I don’t see that anywhere. Few & far between. And another reason why the GOP is considered the rich white man’s party.

  • BLH

Boy oh boy this is to the point of ridiculous and I notice Woody kept trying to fight his way out to the bitter end. I have had everything stolen from me & learned sometime ago that it’s useless dealing with some people even when I saw someone take something of mine I’d watch them but got sick of what I consider a circle in these conversations: I’d accuse & they’d deny & so it goes around til I realized some idiots can’t be reasoned with regardless of how much evidence is against them & their words. Looks like the same situation here with the Woody-ster. But when I read this the more I read the more I’m amused so guess I have to say thanks for the entertainment. I do enjoy fiction.

  • MikeR

Woody: it makes no difference if this is the Republican Base or not. They tolerate it by praising it with the faintest damnation. If it offended them, they’d do something about it .. and those of us who read already KNOW about the DMC’s origins. We ALSO know how the Republicans turned their back to Blacks during the civil rights struggles, how Goldwater failed to understand and respond to the complaints of Black Americans, and how Ronald Reagan’s collaborators created the ‘Southern Strategy’ that flipped White Democratic voters to the Republican side. So shove your BS back where it came from.

    • Woody

“They tolerate it by praising it with the faintest damnation”? Talk about BS. What the hell have the democrats done about this ignorant windbag? Not a damn thing but the faintest damnation, that’s what. If it offended Democrats they’d do something about it. Isn’t that what you said? Typical Left wing-nut hypocrisy. Republicans turned their backs to Blacks during the Civil Rights? Are you kidding? Jesus, get you’re facts straight. Read some history from an unbiased source for a change. And Goldwater didn’t fail to understand anything. He argued for state’s rights and he’s been proven to be right over and over again. What he underestimated was the Left’s willingness to lie unendingly. He never could have imagined how so many seemingly intelligent people would close their eyes to the truth. But then, that would be the end of the Democrat party.

      • Newjackeddie

What, exactly, is your point? You have all the answers to MikeR’s comments but fail to list them. I would like to get my facts straight. Would you mind giving me the facts? I want the unbiased history that you have. I’m not being snarky. Please expound on these truths.

        • Woody

Well, I’m not sure what you’re looking for, Newjackeddie. You should ask MikeR for his facts on when and where republicans “turned their backs on Blacks during the Civil Rights struggles”. It was democrats that filibustered against the Civil Rights Act of 1964, not Republicans. MikeR made those comments, not me. Why don’t you ask him to prove his claims.

It was democrats that fought against Civil Rights in the U.S., not Republicans. It was democrats manning the hoses on Black protestors, holding attack dogs and beating Blacks with billy-clubs, not Republicans. George Wallace was a democrat, not a Republican. Cleagle Robert Byrd was a Cleagle for the KKK, founding member and leader of the W. Virginia KKK. In 1997 Byrd said to a bunch of young DEMOCRATS: “Be sure you avoid the Ku Klux Klan. Don’t get that albatross around your neck. Once you’ve made that mistake, you inhibit your operations in the political arena.” No one ever needed to say that to any young Republicans. And why didn’t he mention the pain and suffering of Blacks at the hands of the KKK. His only concern was for his “operations in the political arena”. A real humanitarian, that one. Not a word from the press. Not a word.

Doesn’t it strike you as odd that all the bigots of the southern political landscape suddenly shifted to the democratic party and magically dropped their racist viewpoints? And, equally miraculous, the GOP suddenly became filled bigots despite over a century of fighting for Civil Rights?

And Ronald Reagan had nothing to do with the “Southern Strategy”. That was a Nixon effort and had nothing to do with Civil Rights.

So, like I said, Eddie. Ask MikeR to prove is comments first. I’m ready to learn just like you.

      • https://www.facebook.com/skip.moreland.5 Skip Moreland

Yes the republicans did turn their backs on blacks by embracing the southern strategy. Up until then, blacks voted mostly republican. After the southern strategy, they went to the democrats. That is history. And in those days, state rights were code words for jim crow.
And Goldwater was very very wrong. We tried state rights, both during the articles of the confederacy and during the jim crow era. Both times it was a miserable failure. In fact the founding fathers found it such a failure that they scrapped it and wrote the constitution.

        • Woody

          You’re wrong, Skip.

First, the so-called “Southern Strategy” was a political distinction, not a civil rights abandonment. And it had nothing to do with Ronald Reagan. It was an election strategy directed by Richard Nixon’s campaign manager and it worked. In it he simply acknowledged that the GOP was not likely to gain the Black vote in the south. That fact was largely based on the power play between Black leaders and democrats, that latter knowing that their power base was going to dwindle if they didn’t change their image from racists to civil rights activist. The youth of the time swallowed hook, line and sinker. Suddenly, all the racists were Republicans. And why? Because the Left said so and the media (also the Left) moved that idea into the mainstream. The Left hates capitalism and loves communism. So, make the conservatives racists and use the media to secure it with the people. It worked. It had no basis in truth either then or now.

Despite the Left playing word games to the contrary, the Republican Party has always been predominate in their battle for civil rights over and above anything the Left has ever done (not words like the Left. Actions). They talk a good thing and they have the media as willing accomplices, but the Republican Party (the party of Lincoln) has alway been the leader of civil rights.

Second, the constitution protects states rights in the Tenth Amendment, Skip. Further, in The Federalist Papers, Alexander Hamilton, the Father of the Constitution, stated that the limitations of the Supremacy Clause of the constitution placed on the proposed federal government, describing that acts of the federal government, were binding on the states and the people therein ONLY IF the act was in pursuance of constitutionally granted powers, and juxtaposing acts which exceeded those bounds as “void and of no force”.

So, states rights were not “scrapped”, Skip. Goldwater was right and the reality is that the foundation of Goldwater’s assertions were his concern that the federal government would foster violations of civil rights. He was right and the Left continues to lie to the population as it does just that.

        • Woody

You seem to fancy yourself knowledgeable of history but you fail miserably in the field of reality. You think there was some mass movement to the GOP by Southern Democrats? HA! Get real and pull out a history book, Skippy. Didn’t happen. Nixon, Ford, Reagan … none of them carried the Dixiecrat states. The GOP didn’t start gaining the Dixiecrat states until ALL THE RACIST DEMOCRATS that lived there started to DIE OFF. THAT is a fact, Skippy. And it’s easily proven. So, again, stop drinking the Kool-aid and start realizing that the democrats are not the party of the black community. Now they’re playing the same game with the hispanic voter. Funny thing is, you’re helping them leave the black community behind. And just like the Dixiecrats, you’re not going to switch to the GOP. You’ll just die off, angry, dejected and abandoned the democrats you thought were your friend while you blame the Southern Strategy. HA!

          • Richard Rowe

Okie-dokey, Skippidy-Doo! LOL…all right, then…riddle me this, General Lee: If the Democratic party isn’t the party of the black community, then why do 95% of blacks vote Democrat? That’s like saying NASCAR, Taylor Swift, asparagus and cocaine aren’t the consumables of choice for the white community. THAT’S pretty easily proven.

Oh, wait…I’m sorry. You meant that the Democrats aren’t GOOD for the black community, in the same way that Taylor Swift isn’t exactly advancing the white community. I get you. Well, thank the LAWD them dumb ol’ Negroes got smart, caring white folk like you around to tell them what’s good for them! Lawdy Lawdy…what would them silly ol’ cotton pickers do without they’s white saviors around to tell them that they’s safer on the plantation than out in the mean ol’ world!

Thank JE-SUS they gots you around to watch out for them…it ain’t they fault, suh…not at ALL. It’s in the phrenology of the Negro skull. They jus’ had all the smart bred out of them, what smart they was. Ain’t no caring white man in the world don’t know to watch out fuh his Negroes. They’s jus too dumb to watch out for they own best interests.

And you wonder why people associate the GOP with racism? I can’t imagine why. I’ll tell you this, Skippy…blacks and Hispanics might be as dumb as anyone else, but they’re obviously smart enough to not side with people who still hate, fear and denigrate them. Be nice if the lily-white Koch-suckers in the GOP base could say the same.

          • Woody

Richard Rowe is too much the coward to allow a comment to his childish diatribe so I’ll have to leave a response in this more general way.

First, Rowe, the person to whom I was responding … his name is SKIP. It’s also my cousin’s name and we call him SKIPPY. It isn’t my name, you idiot.

Second, your racist, sophomoric, stereotypical answer is insulting to anyone that might have taken the time to read it. What the hell is the matter with you. None of your nonsensical rantings have anything to do with my commentary, you fool. You are what is wrong with the democrat party. Filled with vile, hateful thoughts and speech and no concept of what was actually said in the conversation. Just let the adults in the democrat party work out the tough stuff. You go back to your finger paintings.

I couldn’t even begin to put together such a moronic, childish display as you put forth on this page. You ought to be ashamed. But you’re not. You thought you were being clever. And that’s the problem. You’re too stupid to realize what horrid, racist comment you just made, not to mention being completely off point and without base.

Do us a favor … just pull your democrat ticket and shut up while the adults are talking. Please.

It isn’t skippy and I am not the one saying that. Woody is. You are addressing the wrong person.

          • Charlie Adams In Kentucky

Woody, you are a typical right-winger: LIAR to the bone. End of story.

  • Tom

Funny, The government is currently suing dollar general and BMW for running criminal back ground checks on employees and anyone that lied on their applications got fired. There problem most of those that lied on there applications were a minority….there for racism does that mean back ground check to buy a gun are racist too? you can’t have it both ways.

    • http://www.facebook.com/george.greene.33 George Greene

I can so too have it both ways. Lying to get a job and lying to get a gun are NOT equivalent, and the criminal justice system WRONGLY over-targets minorities IN THE FIRST place. You can’t compare white Americans to black ones if you are going to talk about crime rates. White people who smoke pot in their suburban homes are not at risk of getting arrested for it — poor black people ARE.

Jesus, learn the truth. The Left is selling you a bill of goods and counting on your staying ignorant. Please, take the time to view his site and then tell me I’m wrong.

        • Michelle Rhoades

You want proof fine there are many studies that show whites are more likely to abuse drugs and alcohol. http://monitoringthefuture.org/pubs/occpapers/occ30.pdf http://healthland.time.com/2011/11/07/study-whites-more-likely-to-abuse-drugs-than-blacks/ Now look who is locked up more. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Race_and_crime_in_the_United_States#Prison_data Is that proof enoygh?

          • Woody

Great information, Michelle. Still, to answer your question: “No”. No, it is not proof enough. The final summation of your last data point indicates an important proviso, stating:

“The results are highly dependent on education. 30 percent of those without college education and nearly 60 percent of high school dropouts had prison records.”

This is critical data and the implications are staggering and warrant review. Additionally, there are the issues related to the number of fatherless homes, eubonics, unemployment, incompatibility of cultural variances and many more.

Chief among the “many more” is the responsibility inherent in black leadership. There is a growing call for more work on their part and for their community. The so called “progressive” approach has, after some 60 years of effort and countless billions of dollars, failed miserably. I question whether it was ever intended to succeed. But to place the blame on the judicial service of this country alone (and I am no fan of the U.S. Justice Service, believe me), misses the reality of what is at play in this issue.

Your conclusion is based largely (if not solely) on incarceration rates and assumes that the disparity of those rates rests largely within the justice system. Indeed, there is blame there. No doubt. Still, that narrow viewpoint ignores the underlying issues that still haunt the black community. If you are truly interested in elevating the social position of the masses regardless of racial boundaries then give time to the overall issue and not just a narrow perspective of a single tragic symptom. There is more at play here then prejudice. Failing to incorporate those issues into any resolution will only continue to perpetuate discontent and suffering. Assimilation is not a four letter word.

  • Zipper666

The more that they deny the more stories like this appear to prove their racist origins.

    • Woody

Study your history, Zipper. The Democrat party leadership is keeping you ignorant with silly little tricks and you’re falling for it hook, line and sinker. Go to the site of Louisiana State Senator Elbert Guillory. Learn the truth. Study history. Learn about Truman, Johnson and the DMC’s “racist origins”. Stop being lead around by ignorance and start thinking for yourself.

      • http://www.facebook.com/george.greene.33 George Greene

How did that comment not get moderated away? Harry Truman DESEGREGATED THE ARMY, for crying out loud!!!

        • https://www.facebook.com/destrecht Christopher Allen

Umm, That was Truman. (an abberation- a really good Democrat) But first it was doone by General Eisenhower within his platoon. Truman was a racist, racist man. Read his driver’s diary. He blocked school desegregation when Eisenhower tried to pass it .

        • Woody

Yes, George. You’re right about Truman. But, do you know the story? He was a terrible racist. His mother HATED blacks. Hated Yankees. You clearly know very little about the man. Don’t read about Truman from Truman. This is not hidden. Learn the truth. You’re right. He desegregated the Army. But he was a racist in the first order. Johnson signed the 1964 Civil Rights Act after fighting like hell to keep it down. Damn, do some research about the party, man. You’re drinking the cool aid asking everyone else to have a glass. At least know what you’re asking. Learn the history. Learn the party. These are some really sleezy people telling the big lie, just like Hitler taught them.

          • https://www.facebook.com/skip.moreland.5 Skip Moreland

People like you bring this up all the time. The problem is that you ‘forget’ to complete the narrative. After the civil rights act was passed, there was an mass exodus from the democrat party of racists to the republican party. It is why the southern strategy was started by republicans to enlist those former democrats into voting for the republicans.

      • Evanescence

It’s funny that you keep bringing up Elbert Guillory as proof of Mississippi Republicans not being racist. Except for the fact that he is the first and only black Louisianan Senator since Frederick Douglass (who served when the Republicans were still the more liberal and less racist party). This same Guillory switched to the Democratic party in order to try to win in a mostly Democratic district but then upon his loss, saw the switch back as a great publicity stunt to demonize the Democrats and make all the white Mississippi Republicans (read: everyone who is not him or Bobby Jindal) pat him on the head for being a good little obedient house n-gger. Fortunately, no black people were fooled by his little song and dance for his masters.

So when the only proof you have that the Republicans are not racist is the only black person who has held an state legislature office since the the Reconstruction Era over 140 years ago, you kinda shoot your “proof” in the foot.

That’s nuts. That Democratic Party died fifty years ago.

What you say might have been true in the 1940’s in many places, in the 1950’s in a few places, in the 1960’s in one or two..

From Nixon’s Southern Strategy of 1964 onward, the Democratic Party has shaken its historic racism, while the Republican Party has allowed a distinctly anti-historical racism to fester within it.

Today there is only one racist party, the Nationalists; but the Republican Party supports racist policies, tolerates racist members and expressions, and is the full and happy successor to the old Dixiecrats.

Stop deceiving yourself! The rest of us read the news. You can too.

        • Woody

          David Lloyd-Jones:

There is some truth in a festering racist component within the GOP. That same racist component resides within the Democrat Party. Don’t kid yourself. And it is even greater among the Black community while the Democrat Party spares no expense to keep that wound open and sore.

Every major city in the U.S. is run by Democrat Party leaders with policies that have made their cities broke and crime ridden; designed to keep blacks poor and dependent on their (DNC’s) party. Did you listen to Louisiana State Senator Elbert Guillory (a black politician). Take a minute and learn the truth from a man who knows racism and government. Jesus, learn the truth. The Left is selling you a bill of goods and counting on your staying ignorant. Please, take the time to view his site and then tell me I’m wrong.

          • https://www.facebook.com/skip.moreland.5 Skip Moreland

It is true that not all the bigots and racists left the party, but it is true that most left the democrats. It is a lie to say that democrats are trying to keep blacks poor so they can be under the democrats thumbs. The cities are still suffering from white flight in the 60s when all the jobs and money left most of them. That only left the poor people and poor people are not a good tax base.
In trying to attract money and jobs, cities give tax breaks to businesses. Which means that the city then has to depend on the people to pay the taxes. Which means far less revenue coming in. Throw in the transferring of good jobs overseas and the poverty is increased. And the states don’t help any. Every state I have been to and those that I have researched have city schools getting 1/3 the money that suburban schools get. The rural schools also have that inequity. The suburban schools are newer with the most modern equipment, inner city schools still use stuff from when I was a kid and that was long ago. That’s because suburban people vote and have money. They are also mostly republicans. And they are all white who are plenty racist.
I did listen to Guillory, there are many ignorant people like him who have no clue. First off all the red states are controlled by republicans and all the red states are at the bottom of the rankings in standards of living. And those states have been red (conservative) for over a 100 years. If those policies were so good for people, those states should be at the top of the ranking, not the bottom. So saying republicans are good for poor people is like saying it is very good to be poor and please hit me again with that 2×4.
People like you rail against liberalism, but if you look at the states which actually make money, it is the blue states. In fact blue states send up to 40% of their money to all the red states except texas. So those red states which are at the bottom in everything only survive as badly as they do because they receive help from the liberal states.
Blacks were not doing well under jim crow and racism, but after the civil rights act and the mass exodus of voters, they really got hurt. Then politics were turned against them in another way. Rules were set by republican majorities on welfare that destroyed the black families. Rules insisted upon because how dare we help a black family. So the man had to leave before the family could get assistance. Then we get trickle upon or voodoo economic policy for the last 30 yrs. And no help for any city.
So you are wrong. Things are not great in blue states, but they are much better than any red state in better education, less poverty, less violence, less obesity, better healthcare, less infant mortality, less wedlock, etc. So if the republicans were doing anything to really help the people, with the massive aid they get from the blue states, by now they ought to have improved their states. Instead they remain at the bottom where they have been for a long time. Which shows that republican policies only hurt the people rather than help them. Otherwise, if those policies were so good, the red states would be the givers and the blue states the takers instead of the reality where it is reversed. The red states are the takers and the blue states the givers. And the red states are at the bottom. That is the reality.

          • Woody

I wish it were as black and white as you think (no pun intended). You have ignored a great number of realities in your blue/red state dissertation. Just an example: Populations in coastal states (blue) far outnumber rural states (red). New Jersey is an excellent example. They have put themselves in debt beyond revenues by giving away the store to buy votes. Now the piper needs to be paid and the grand benevolence that you think emanates from an altruistic democrat party has dried up. It’s the first of many. The democrats of California, Massachusetts, New York and so on, have put the states in monstrous debt and God knows what we the people will have to do for their asses.

Red state welfare recipients are exactly the same as the blue state welfare recipients. Red states are not filled with just republicans, Skip. You can bet those recipients are mostly liberal as well. I live in a red state but the area I am in is almost exclusively democrat. It is rife with corruption and poverty in the adjacent counties. Not the rest of the state. Just here in the northwest and the a couple of counties near the capital and they are run by democrat machines. But we are a red state. These recipients are “entitled” to those monies because of the federal welfare rolls set up by democrats. Republicans believe it could be done in a more efficient manner on a state level without bankrupting the state and without making people lifelong welfare dependents.

I grew up in Albany, New York. Possibly the most liberal area of the country. I have lived in Massachusetts, Vermont, Connecticut, Virginia, Illinois and Indiana both inner city and suburban. Suburban areas are all white and plenty racist? That is one of the most ridiculous, bigoted, moronic statements I’ve heard in a long time. You don’t know what the hell you’re talking about it to make such a hateful, stupid comment.

You make a good liberal. You spew hatred and nonsense and call the other guy a bigot. You need to do your research again, Skippy. You don’t know what you’re talking about.

          • https://www.facebook.com/skip.moreland.5 Skip Moreland

We wouldn’t be so overextended if we didn’t support the red states along with an empire and the social welfare for the rich. Far more of our money is spent for the wealthy in welfare than on the poor. You should do the research.
And where is the hate? You have shown the hate. Stop projecting.

          • Woody

We’re not supporting the red states, Skip. You’re supporting the welfare class. That’s why we’re overextended. Don’t you get it? The red states are not filled with just Republicans. You’re helping your fellow democrats that live in red states. And ask Obama about welfare for the rich. That’s a democrat ploy. You should do the research. Look at all the money (our money) Obama has given to the rich. You’ve got a lot to learn if you just stop drinking the Kool-aid.

And tell me … what are the “Rules [sic] set by republican majorities on welfare that destroyed the black families”? What are you talking about here?
