The TEApublican war on women rages on in Arkansas with the passage of the country’s most restrictive abortion ban. TEApublicans, including Ann Clemmer (R-Woman-Hater) overrode a veto by Democratic Governor Mike Beebe’s veto to pass a ban on abortions after 12 weeks.
Don’t worry though, they’re not really eliminating your right to choose.
Rep. Ann Clemmer explained to a KUAR reporter,
“I really believe that we are not eliminating choice at all. We’re just saying after 12 weeks, the choice is over. You have a choice for the first 12 weeks. That’s almost three months. We’re talking the second trimester here — we’re talking about second trimester abortions.”
Clemmer also argued before passage of the bill that Arkansas state law declares a 12 week old pregnancy in utero to be a person who must be protected from third parties, but also THE MOTHER HERSELF.
You read that right.
