Author’s Note: Since many didn’t “get the joke” when an editor threw “Pilgrims” in the title for a laugh, we have changed it. We suppose we have more of an appreciation for ironic titles than most. No need to remind us of grade school history: Someone was just having fun with the fact that she obviously didn’t study much.
New Hampshire State Representative Marilinda Garcia loves America, and hates socialism! In fact, she hates socialism so much that she doesn’t want America to go the way of Jamestown. Confused yet? You should be.
“We’re at a very dangerous place,” says Garcia, “because people really don’t remember history or they haven’t studied it.” Garcia feels that because of this lack of knowledge people tend to accept President Obama’s push for collectivism, but wants to remind us that “America’s experiment with collectivism died before the country was even founded.” In Jamestown.
“With the Jamestown colony, what happened was you have these colonists here, and certainly they have a lot of things to deal with–the weather, food, shelter, and what actually happened,” says Garcia, is that “the vast majority of them starved to death.” Why? Because they have public land.
That’s right folks, Jamestown didn’t nearly fail because colonists settled on swamp land too late into their first year to plant crops, conflicts with the area tribes, malaria, and resupply problems–it was that said mosquito-infested swamp land was public land. Makes sense, right?
Anyway, a brand new governor came over and saved the people from public land, which magically erased all of the problems that actually affected the colony.
Now, given her expertise regarding the Jamestown colony you are probably wondering, “Why in’t this woman in Congress where she can make serious decisions that affect my life?” Well, you’re in luck! She wants to be one of New Hampshire’s next Congresspeople!
Watch Garcia prove her qualifications to be a Tea Party Congressional candidate below.
