Tea Partier: Women Aborting Rapist’s Baby Should Serve Same Time As Rapist!

Here’s a disturbing moment of Tea Party insanity thanks to the horribly uninformed and hyperbolic news director of the Tea Party News Network, Scottie Hughes. Hughes commits one logical fallacy after another, while lying through her tea-stained teeth about abortions in America, and the women who have them. She thinks a fertilized egg is a baby, and life begins at conception.

At the 5:18 mark in the video things really get nasty. John Fugelsang asks the deranged tea partier, “Let’s say Roe v. Wade is overturned and abortion becomes illegal. If a woman is raped and she goes to a doctor, and the doctor terminates the pregnancy – Please tell me who deserves the longest jail sentence? The rapist, the doctor or the woman? In order.”

Tea Party nit-wit Scottie Hughes answers, “Across the board.”

“All three of them?” Fugelsang asks.

“Go for it!” Said Hughes.

So there you have it, folks. In the sick and twisted world of the Tea Party, a woman should face the same jail time for aborting the rapist’s baby, as the rapist gets for raping her.

I looked at the tea party news network site just for curiosity sake. I have found the absolute bottom of the Internet, where all the crap from everywhere else settles to rot along with the brains of those unfortunate enough to consider that stuff real news. It was terrible.

  • Linda

How about all you pro-life’s go move to Ethiopia and save all the children being abandoned to die because their bottom teeth grew in before their front teeth, have some other physical abnormality, they were born twins (so one has to die), or born out of wedlock. Save them and show us how much you really care about HUMAN life. They are living breathing human beings! Children left alone to die from dehydration and starvation, or killed by animals ect. all because it’s considered a bad omen.

  • Trixr4kids

Want to hear something scary? So, I go to the school to pick up my daughter. She has a friend with her and he needs a ride too. Ok, no big deal. On the way home there is conversation. Now, he’s a big talker. You know the kind “oh you did that? Well, I did this!’ I ignore it but he said something I just could not ignore. It was so bad my daughter was stunned into silence. He said “back in the mid-evil times there was no such thing as rape. Sex was for pleasure. In modern times they made up rape to create a climate of fear”….. I swear to god that’s what he said and I”m pretty sure he actually believes it. We were stunned.. I couldn’t let that one go. I spent the next few minutes explaining to him, as calmly as possible, why is was absolutely wrong. Scary

    • CJ

“Climate of fear” sounds more like something his father probably told him. And it’s really said that those kind of beliefs get passed on to their kids. With that kind of thinking…he’s liable to end up in jail for doing just that one day.

Is this woman out of her friggin mind…. Yes, I know, rhetorical question. I read an article that approximately 31 states in the US allow a rapist to petition the courts for visitation rights. That is just plain sick.

As part of my daughter’s Confirmation requirements, we had to attend a conference that addressed teen sex, STDs, etc. A boy in the audience actually asked and wanted to know where his cervix was. He wasn’t kidding. He was completely ignorant on to this. That was just the part of the conference where they advised not to get the HPV shot. Had I known that the speaker was going to get up and say “my biological father was a rapist, and thank God my mother chose life”, I would have not attended. I can no longer practice Catholicism as a result.

I was raped when I was 17. Thank God for Planned Parenthood and birth control pills. I am happy I did not have to experience that choice but glad the choice was available should a different result happened.

If someone invented an assault weapon that shot morning after pills instead of bullets, the GOP would ban assault weapons tomorrow. No government should have jurisdiction over my body parts. A vaginal ultrasound is not a necessary procedure before an abortion. I consider that re-rape. I think Governor Perry should have this procedure done. A woman can never truly be free if she does not have control over the most basic and fundamental thing in life, her body.

Bottomline, if I wanted the government in my body, I’d f$$k a Senator. My business, between me and my doctor, STFU.

May Thurgood Marshall rest in peace, and thank you for your love and support of women’s rights.

    • Subliminal Portal

Here’s my take on the matter, Donna. Anyone who believes that a woman or young girl should be forced to have her rapist’s baby should be forced to watch the 2000 film titled “Cherry Falls”, especially the scene where the rape baby is a 27-year old man and hacks his biological father with an ax. These bastards who make babies by violently raping women and young girls make patricide a justifiable crime.

Anyone who believes that violent rapists should have visitation rights with their rape babies should be forced to watch the 1968 film titled “Rosemary’s Baby.” I think Ira Levin was questioning the Fifth Commandment of the Bible concerning the argument over whether rape babies should spend Father’s Day with their biological fathers when he wrote the storyline for this movie. One can’t really honor a man who destroyed their mother’s life even if that man took part in one’s procreation when he sexually assaulted that person’s mother.

What a moronic b**ch and by the way Greg? What a load of bulls**t. DO the world a favor and throw your computer away. Then go get a clue. IT IS NONE OF YOUR GODDAMNED BUSINESS WHAT A WOMAN DOES! NONE!! And besides you a**holes are not pro life, you are pro birth. After that you hate the baby and do what you can to make it’s life and the life of the mother miserable. Hell after throwing the computer away do the same.

  • Wendy

She is 100% right in that a fertilized egg is a baby, and life begins at conception!

    • Bob Cull

No, Wendy, she is 100% wrong and so are you! The vast majority of fertilized eggs never implant in the uterus and are washed out of the woman’s body during menses.

      • Yalith

Bob- your responses are always a breath of fresh air to me

    • Miguel

Apparently you haven’t read your Bible, which states quite clearly that life begins when a breath is taken.

      • Kim

No, I read a science book which refutes your claim. Put down the fiction, pick up some education.

    • http://gravatar.com/theliberalbuzz Buzz

      No she is not.

    • Judy Jacobs

Wendy, where did you get that idea? From the Bible? The Bible refers to the beginning of life as the moment the spirit, or breath, enters the body. A fetus does many things that humans do: It urinates, masturbates, sucks its thumb. But its first breath of air is taken after it emerges from the body of the woman where it developed.
Or do you think an egg is the same as a chicken? Having raised poultry for a number of years, they are not the same at all.

  • DeistPaladin

Can we please stop calling them “The Tea Party” out of respect to the real anti-corporate patriots by the same name about 240 years ago?
These people have as much in common with the 18th century Tea Party as President Obama has with socialism! Given the behavior of these nut bags, I think we can find renewable energy by hooking the coffins of our founding fathers up to turbine engines. We could power the whole east coast with the spinning they must be doing in their graves.
I say, let them keep their original name. Call them “Tea Baggers”. Personally, I think “The Know Nothing Party”, a 19th century group they have the most in common with, suits them best.

    • Miguel

Thank you. I’ve been saying this for years. Since these nuts now belatedly realize that “Teabagger” is a pejorative term, I suggest that we call them Teabillies.

  • http://www.lonewolfwoman.com Opal Wolf

Don’t worry to much. Less than 2-3% of all rapist ever spend any time in prison(old info fact)so todays rapists if caught, usually walk and now with all of these teabagger fertility freaks, they probably would be willing to give a bounty to all rapist who impregnate their victims. They are that mentally ill.
Please vote them out before they lock all women up in those FEMA camps, make US wear burkas and when your fertile time comes, make a huge ceremony out of the possible impregnation act as was written in “The Handmaid’s Tale.”
    Smile, you’re on CCATV.

  • holly

while I don’t believe any termination of pregnancy should be done after 16 weeks there are reasons, mostly medical and i do support this, I’m not sure about the states as i am from Canada where abortion is legal and if detected early a shot is administered(so no procedure this can be done in the doctors office) and this terminates the pregnancy we also have the morning after pill that is given to anyone who needs it at any pharmacy or hospital and if the rape is reported it is given at that time as well, are these options available in most states?

    • http://aattp Pam

Holly, we can only dream of living in such a rational society.

What I don’t understand is that all of the “Tea Party” people I talk to claim that the social conservatives are a “fringe” part of their constituency; yet lunatics like this woman are their self-proclaimed spokes-persons. They run candidates who are Christian Conservatives, who believe that a woman’s reproductive system shuts down if she’s raped, who advocate for teaching Creationism (a faith-based pseudoscience) on par with evolutionary theory (one of the cornerstones of modern biology), etc., etc.

If the Tea Party is all about bringing back transparent, representative government, and fiscal responsibility, why all this social conservative hogwash?

Or maybe…they’re just a bunch of hypocritical liars?

Arguing about this is hopeless. It goes without saying that NEVER is everyone going to agree. While I do not believe in abortion as a rule of thumb as a form of birth control, in the case of rape, incest or endangerment of the mother’s life, it should be available if the woman wants it.

Unless you can prove that this female is a crossdressing male you can be charged with slander by stating this in a public forum. If this is a transgendered person there is nothing wrong with that either.

The fact that she made this comment is simple proof of her ignorance.

    • Bob Cull

You don’t know anywhere near as much as you think you do about the law, Betty. No one has stated as a “fact” that she was a drag queen or transgendered, they were offering their opinions of her, that is perfectly legal and not actionable. Oh, and by the way slander is verbally damaging another’s reputation, these comments are published so the claim, if it could be made and it can’t, would be libel, not slander. :D

    • https://www.facebook.com/susan.geus Susan Gamba Rungo-de Geus

Betty Pastir – it would not be slander – that’s verbal. It would either be Defamation or Libel. And since she is considered a public figure, she would not be able to be sued. So you are incorrect on that count.

  • Mike Parent

In all Fairness, the NeoCons are not Conservatives, They’re a special brand of self serving control freaks who have minions who subsribe to this bastardoized “Conservatism” because they believe their religion dictates it, or they believe they’ll too be a 1%er someday, if they hit the lottery.
Here’s what a real Conservatives position looked like.
By the 1980s, the increasing influence of the Christian right on the Republican Party so conflicted with Goldwater’s views that he became a vocal opponent of the religious right on issues such as abortion, gay rights, and the role of religion in public life.

    • CMC

Unfortunately, the Republicans/Conservatives have continued to appease and/or support the Neo-Cons, and for all intents and purposes are now those Neo-Cons – just look at the policies and laws they’ve managed to pass or dismantle over the last 40 years. They’ve very successfully used a divide and conquer strategy to convince many to vote against their best interest. So, until “real” Conservatives either turn against this group of rabid fundamentalists and turf them from the Conservative ranks, or stop voting for Conservatives altogether, all Conservatives will be viewed in the same light.

Here’s a thought, “Blondie”: Why don’t we mandate vasectomies for all these male “whores” who run around spreading their “seed’ and impregnating everything with a vagina in sight? LOL. Good luck with that.

  • Timothy Walden

You know….ignorance of her magnitude almost doesn’t bear commenting on but I just can’t help myself. I think she needs to walk the walk and see what she would really do. Let her get impregnated by a rapist and we’ll see what floats then.

    • Tazzle

If she got impregnated by a Sudanese Muslim who it was discovered was gay and had been drunk and high when he raped her, we’d be definitely seeing what floats then.

    • Betty Pastir

Are you volunteering to impregnate her against her will (rape)?

  • Dean E. Sizemore

If it can be medically shown that an unborn child will grow up to become a complete mindless idiot like the blonde, it should be aborted in the first week of conception. “I’ve heard that some want to abort up to the day of birth.” And I suppose you’ve heard of Santa Claus too? Go crawl back under your rock and STFU!!!

  • Gayle

You have got to be kidding me?! I can guarantee she would change her mind if she was the one raped or her daughter or sister! That’s the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard!

  • Donna Gratehouse

I actually find it refreshing when anti-choicers are honest about what they intend for women under the policies they want. Many of them refuse to give a straight answer when asked about prosecuting women. They start babbling nonsense about how much they wuvs us wimmenz and only want to protect us from the bad, bad abortions and birth control.

Abortion is killing a life; I am not saying not to do it, I am saying it is killing.. and if one is going to do that, admit that and do it right away, not after 20 weeks of longer…but that is the woman’s decision ….men do their killing decisions; war is their favorite.

    • Jen

Who do you think is aborting after 20 weeks, exactly? o.O The majority of abortions taking place after 20 weeks is medical in nature, as the fetus is failing to thrive, has major developmental issues, or is somehow dying or killing the mother.

    • Linda

And if the baby has already died in the womb, is inducing labor an abortion?

    • JDaff

Excuse me? NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE has the right to tell a woman who has been RAPED that she HAS to complete a pregancy.

If it is a life, then why is it’s death not commonly honored with a funeral, burial and headstone. If the church truly believed this was a life, half of the headstones in the cemetery should be for the spontaneous and induced abortions and have no birth date on them. Half of all pregnancies are not carried to term, but only a tiny number of those not are memorialized, whereas only a tiny number of after birth deaths are not memorialized. The action is not following the rhetoric.

  • http://gravatar.com/labman57 labman57

To social conservatives, if a woman is sexually assaulted:
    1) she was probably dressed scantily and therefore had it coming.
    2) it was God’s will, so give thanks for the blessed event.
    3) s**t happens, so suck it up and deal with it.
    4) her body’s defenses will prevent her from becoming pregnant.
    5) There’s no need for “Plan B”-type contraception, because that’s what rape kits are for.
    6) what’s “rape”?

    Bottom line:
Many Republicans thump their chests and proclaim that abortions performed in certified clinics must be banned completely, no matter the circumstances of the pregnancy. And women who don’t want to have the rapist’s baby should be treated like a murderer.
Because the GOP doesn’t give a rat’s ass about the rights and well-being of rape and incest victims.
Much better to have said procedure performed with a wire coat hanger in a back alley, or with a chemical coat hanger provided by a non-accredited physician in a dingy third world doctor’s office.

So much for the tea party/conservative movement’s mantra: “small, non-intrusive government”.

    • https://www.facebook.com/starlett2009 Colleen Robinson

First of all this person is full of it. A woman who is raped (violated to the extreme) and aborts the devil child (yes I said devil child) deserves to serve jail time??? She was innocently raped and violated and she should serve time?? Fine she keeps the kid and gives it up for adoption (as no woman would let her rapist near the kid) and 18 years late kid comes looking for her. Answer this – what in the world do you tell the kid about his / her dad??? oh “Jonny / Susy, I gave you up for adoption coz your dad raped me” what a way to screw up a kids life – and the mom’s life too. Think about that outcome anti-choicers. I for one would definately get rid of the devil child if i was (horror) raped and charge my rapist. I have my family 100% behind me. Even the pro life ones! when it comes to RAPE everyone is on my side!!!

You’d have to militarize the country against women. That would go over like a lead balloon.

        • http://www.lonewolfwoman.com Opal Wolf

Tazzel: They have been militarizing the police forces in America for some time now and since the PTB consider all Americans as an enemy of one kind or another, it would be no surprise if woman have already been targeted as enemy combatants a few years ago.

  • Cyndi

I am pro-choice. But I also feel that getting an abortion at 5 months should only be allowed for babies with severe birth defects or in the case of the mothers life being in danger.

24 weeks (which is five months) is enough time to figure out if you can or want to have the child.

But this tea party lady is a lunatic!!

    • Bob Cull

Teapubs are not able to do basic math either, Cyndi, they think that 5 months is 20 weeks.

    • Susan

Less than 2% of all abortions in the US happen after 20 weeks gestation and they are almost all done out of medical necessity. A very small portion of that >2% are women who have had to save up enough money to pay for their abortion and would have done so earlier if possible.

    • marybeth

    • http://www.lonewolfwoman.com Opal Wolf

Cyndi, did you get an American education ? 24 weeks divided by 4weeks in a month would equal a 6 month gestational time for a pregnancy, not 5.

      • Bob Cull

Opal, it is you who is lacking in math skills, there are 4.345 weeks in a month making 6 months 26 weeks. Using your four weeks to the month gives you 13 months in a year and the last time I checked there are only 12 months.

      • Cyndi

I did get an American education and I graduated with a 4.0 from high school and 3.98 from college. Shall we discuss IQ levels? I’m at 149 – where are you?

We say we are pregnant for 9 months right? A pregnancy last 40 weeks. If, according to your math, a month only has 4 weeks that would mean we are pregnant for 10 months. There are 4.3 weeks in a month.

I’ll admit I estimated the weeks at 24 – I could have been more specific with 21.5. Either way it’s more than 20 weeks.

I guess you don’t believe in the death penalty……right?
      I guess you support Bush’s wars……right?

      • http://www.facebook.com/greg.price.1654 Greg Price

Not the same things at all. Pre-born babies are innocent. Convicted capital criminals are innocent. Shooting in self-defense is legitimate use of force. Killing an otherwise harmless pre-born baby is NOT self-defense and therefore not legitimate use of force.

Lastly, the state has the DUTY to use deadly force to protect national interests, so
“Bush’s wars” also are not relevant.

        • Bob Cull

And what “national interest” was served by attacking Iraq? Oh, that’s right, I almost forgot, those people had the nerve to put their country on top of our oil. The only problem is that it turned out that the oil belonged to the Chinese!

          • https://www.facebook.com/greg.price.1654 Greg Price

Which has nothing to do with murdering pre-born babies.

Pre-born babies are fetuses. Fetuses are not babies. Period.

So, what about the Pre-dead mother? What if she uses the SYG law, and has the abortion as self defense?

        • The Lordeth Sayeth

Wow you’re an idiot Greg. Why is it that you teabggers care so much about the unborn child but stop giving a shit about them as soon as they are born? To quote Dale’s post earlier.

“I suggest that you put you name on a list, and volunteer to adopt the rapist’s child and raise the child as your own (with the rapist have rights too) up to and including college and assume all responsibility medically, not use any tax for any extraordinary care needed. If you can’t step up to the plate and become the parent for an unwanted child…shut the hell up and mind your own business.”

        • Shenanagins

Wait…so murder is murder unless it meets certain clauses? That is some creative thinking.

Just to spite you. Because your delusions end where my body begin.

    • Mykelb

Yeah. The law defines what murder is, and it is not aborting a globule of cells.

      • http://www.facebook.com/greg.price.1654 Greg Price

@ Mykelb: the pre-born baby, from the moment of egg fertalization, meets the scientific tests of life. Since we are talking about human life, the laws against murder apply. NO ONE has the right to take innocent human life.

        • http://www.facebook.com/Snakescatlady Madeline Wells Smith

Wrong, but thank you for playing. Murder is defined as the unlawful killing of a human being. Since abortion is not unlawful, it is not murder.

        • Dean E. Sizemore

Greg, when you become pregnant, I’ll consider your opinion relevant.

        • https://www.facebook.com/darkdragonweaver Dale Mulkey

no it meets the test of being a leach and a parasite

        • BL Stone

How is a fetus then any different than a cancer growing inside a human being? Because it’s growing inside your body which is supporting and nourishing it, isn’t that human life as well ? It can’t live on its own apart from your body, can it ? The question here is viability, the ability to breathe. Until the fetus is able to do that, then it is not a baby. You will never eliminate abortion; you will only push it underground and make it dangerous and unsafe. I hope that your conscience can live with the fact that living, breathing, thinking women will die or be mutilated if this fanaticism succeeds.

        • bb

“the pre-born baby, from the moment of egg fertilization, meets the scientific tests of life” FALSE: Science has nos stated when life begins. Even so, a fetus is not a baby, is not a person, so it can not be murdered.

          • https://www.facebook.com/greg.price.1654 Greg Price

I will post again what I have posted elsewhere, bb…you are wrong:

According to Hickman, Roberts, and Larson (1997), any living organism will meet the following seven basic properties of life:

            1) Chemical uniqueness. Living systems demonstrate a unique and
            complex molecular organization.
            2) Complexity and hierarchical organization. Living systems
demonstrate a unique and complex hierarchical organization.
            3) Reproduction. Living systems can reproduce themselves.
            4) Possession of a genetic program. A genetic program provides fidelity
            of inheritance.
            5) Metabolism. Living organisms maintain themselves by obtaining
            nutrients from their environments.
            6) Development. All organisms pass through a characteristic life cycle.
            7) Environmental reaction. All animals interact with their environment.

(A photograph of a fertilized egg.)
An analysis of the fertilized egg must be made to determine if the fertilized egg and the resulting zygote, embryo, and fetus can all be classified as living organisms. Do these entities meet the properties seen in all living organisms?

            1) Chemical Uniqueness. Fertilized eggs possess their own unique DNA
            from conception.
            2) Complexity and hierarchical organization. Hickman, Roberts, and
Larson (1997) explain that the most basic unit in the biological
hierarchy is the cell. The cell holds the properties of living organisms,
and cells can be manipulated in the laboratory and can be reproduced,
whereas nonliving elements cannot. Therefore, the fertilized egg would
meet this criteria, although it would be a more basic unit of the
            biological hierarchy.
            3) Reproduction. Francis Beckwith (1994) observes that the zygote
possesses two different methods of reproduction: cell reproduction and
twinning. According to Beckwith (1994), twinning is “a form of asexual
reproduction, which can occur after conception.”
            4) Possession of a genetic program. Francis Beckwith (1994) confirms
that from conception, the fertilized egg has “its own unique genetic
code.” The 46 chromosomes present at conception provide all of the
genetic information that will ever be needed.
            5) Metabolism. Francis Beckwith (1994) confirms that from conception,
the fertilized egg meets the requirement of metabolism.
            6) Development. Hickman, Roberts, and Larson (1997) state,
“Development describes the characteristic changes that an organism
undergoes from its origin (usually the fertilization of the egg by sperm)
to its final adult form.” Thus, although the fertilized egg will take on
different forms throughout its life cycle, the development of life begins
            at conception.
            7) Environmental interaction. The entity in the womb interacts with its
environment in many ways. Kicking and jumping are both examples.
In addition, research has shown that the fetus can be soothed by music
and can recognize the voice of its mother.

The fertilized egg, from the moment of conception, meets each of the properties that have been found to determine if an organism can be classified as living. Based on this definition, life begins at conception.

            http://academic.wsc.edu/mathsci/hammer_m/life.htm

        • https://www.facebook.com/skeeping Susan Keeping

Even the Bible says a human is not living until they can draw a breath on their own.ie After they are born.

        • CJ

Actually cell division does not even start until 15 hours after fertilization so therefore fertilization is not the beginning of life as per your set of definitions. The egg for a brief time after fertilization does not have it’s own unique set of DNA…it still contains the full sets of DNA from both parents. The zygote retains those sets of DNA until it undergoes syngamy (which in case you didn’t know is the breakdown of the membrane that separates the two sets of DNA). But even at this point there is still not singular nucleus. It still will not be an instantaneous combination of the sets of DNA.

Let’s add in that not every fertilized egg becomes a zygote in the sense that we consider as the possible forming of a human life. There are cases of the fertilized egg becoming a hydatidiform mole (“molar pregnancy”). It goes through the same fertilization process but is an abnormality. How do we define it since it IS a fertilized egg that created this?

A fetus is not going to interact to music or mother’s voice until it has developed a brain that can register those events. Nor is going to be kicking or sucking a thumb yet. The brain, spinal cord, heart and other organs do not even develop until the 5th week when the embryonic begins. Week six is when the fetus begins pumping blood on it’s own through it’s heart before that relying solely on it’s mother’s body to provide the necessary circulation for development of the cells.

Defining the actual beginning of life can be a slipper slope and it’s still in much debate among the scientific community. You can quote one set of standards for it but find another set that says the opposite. That is how science works until there is a 100% definitive answer to the theories produced and this particular set of theories has not yet gone further than being theories.

A mother is the host for a collection of cells much in the way that our bodies can be hosts for parasites. Do we consider the removal of them from our body as murder? After all…they have their own unique set of DNA and other than the original parasite, they all were developed within the human body using the nutrients we provide to their development. They multiply. They minuscule thought processes are uniquely their own and not controlled by their host. They possess their own metabolism and go through their own developmental stages. They interact with their environment according to their needs to feed upon what we provide them and their ability to create distress in our bodies if we upset them.

Regardless of all the facts…a woman’s body is her own. She should not have it controlled by the government much in the way the TP’s don’t want government controlling their ability to purchase firearms. Maybe you’d like them to send someone to supervise our copulation’s to ensure that proper birth control is being used to prevent a pregnancy. Would you give them the ability to step in to stop a rape or would that be a no-no as it would obviously be going against God’s plan? Would you stop the use of the morning after pill because it destroys the developing zygote which according to you is already a life? In the case of religious arguments…if abortion is a sin is not the woman who will answer to God in the end? That will be her cross to bear and not yours.

So in closing…stay the hell out of my body…stay the hell out of my daughter’s body…and stay out of my grand-daughter’s body. Women too are their own individual organism’s that should not have the interference of outside organism’s deciding what occurs within the cells that make her the individual organism that she is.

So why do you care more about that fertilized egg than the person (woman) who is already on this earth- or the countless number of children who don’t have access to food, medical care or an education? It’s a lot easier for you to insist that egg be protected all costs while you probably do nothing to help those who are already here – oh yea, they are supposed to fend for themselves. Cuz that’s what Jesus would do!

          • Dean E. Sizemore

Honey, she doesn’t CARE about either the egg OR the woman. She just likes to hear herself talk.

          • https://www.facebook.com/greg.price.1654 Greg Price

Who says I said that? In fact I’ve said the OPPOSITE. I care very much about mothers and children. They deserve (perhaps more than any others) society’s unstinting and absolute support.

        • http://coreysviews.wordpress.com/ cpmondello

No such thing as pre born and if I want to get preg and abort at 9 months that’s mine and no one else’s business. It would be different if pro lifers actually gave a crap about a baby once it is born, heck most do r care if its a single poor preg girl they’d rather cut off all help for them to get assistance with food and housing when they are preg never mind once a child is forced into the world unwanted!!!

        • Donna Gratehouse

So should identical twins be legally considered the same person then?

          • http://www.lonewolfwoman.com Opal Wolf

Donna, YES and also don’t forget pregnancies that result in identical triplets, identical quadruplets (as seen on TV series) and the most famous quintuplets in the world, The Dionne Quints. All from 1 egg, all 5 girls identical DNA so yeah, they are really 1 person. Won’t that confuse the teabaggers.

          • Bob Cull

Confusing a Teapub is not a hard task! Stand on his right, reach behind him and tap him on the left shoulder, he will never figure it out. :D

        • http://aattp Pam

There is no such thing as a “pre-born baby”. There are zygotes, embryos, fetuses, and babies. A baby is an independently living human being. A fetus is not. Anything that is inside my body is mine to decide about and no one else has any legitimate interest in it whatsoever.

          • https://www.facebook.com/greg.price.1654 Greg Price

Pam, you are scientifically and morally wrong.

            Period.

        • AW

Greg, under that logic, appendectomy is also murder. Your appendix is alive, and it’s human tissue, therefore it should have exactly the same rights as a pre-viable fetus. And sex during a woman’s fertile period almost always results in fertilization, but only a small percentage of fertilized eggs implant. If an egg is human and has rights, then any woman trying to conceive should be eligible for bereavement leave under FMLA any time she has a period.

By the way, you would have ever so slightly more credibility if you learned to spell the event you consider the beginning of life. It’s not a typo when you commit the same error in every post. If you’re too ignorant to spell it, you clearly don’t know enough about it to be taken seriously.

          • https://www.facebook.com/greg.price.1654 Greg Price

AW, an appendix is not a human being, it is a human ORGAN. IT can never BE anything other than an appendix.

A human being is a human being. This is self-evident to everyone other than pro-infanticidal fanatics.

          • https://www.facebook.com/greg.price.1654 Greg Price

Oh, and you need to take some basic science if you class an UNfertilized egg as the same as a post-fertilization one, which is the pre-born baby at its earliest state of development.

        • The Lordeth Sayeth

Greg, religion is murder. We need to ban that. And it’s none of your business what a woman does with her body you smug self righteous goon.

    • Disgusted

What about if I’m defending all of humanity from plagues like you. What if I eliminated you and claimed righteous self defense of all, in the name of Jesus. He told me to do this. Trump that, you pathetic mortal.

Have you ever eaten a pig? It has more life, more cognizance, more awareness, and more intelligence than an un-viable fetus.

FYI, most “conceptions” end in miscarriages, though are not popularly considered so, as they are not terribly traumatic in nature. Many times it can be a late menstrual period with a heavy “flow”. Are you going to throw the book at all women with irregular cycles?

I hereby smite thee. (and I sometimes eat bacon :)

      • Disgusted

… About the Jesus thing above: He reminded me of free-will and the Golden Rule. He also said he’s cool with Buddha, Mohamed, Abraham, etc. (although Abraham was a bit of a downer :)

      • https://www.facebook.com/greg.price.1654 Greg Price

A miscarriage is not an abortion. A miscarriage is an act of biology and nature, not the deliberate, artificial intervention by man to terminate a human life.

You are either ignorant of the substantive difference between the two, or just don’t care.

        • Cyndi

A miscarriage in medical terms is called a spontaneous abortion. So yes, it is an abortion.

          • https://www.facebook.com/greg.price.1654 Greg Price

            Please stop being deliberately obtuse.

The original claim is that banning abortions would lead to women being prosecuted for having a miscarriage. A miscarriage is an entirely NON-volitional event. No one MAKES a miscarriage happen. Hence a woman having a miscarriage is NOT liable under any proposed statute prohibiting abortion, as there is no volitional act to establish a crime.

          • http://aattp Pam

What if she drank a glass of wine? Or had a cup of coffee? Or went jogging? Clearly, it would only be a matter of time…When you value a fetus more than the woman, it can only lead to persecution of women.

          • DonnaFaye

Not even a matter of time. Women are already being prosecuted under “fetal protection” and “chemical endangerment” laws.

And when the anti-choicers get all the policies they want in place nosy neighbors will simply have to report seeing the woman who had a miscarriage engaging in some “dangerous” behavior. That will be all that is needed for an ambitious prosecutor to charge her for murder.

        • Disgusted

Greg, cancer fit’s your delusional definition of ‘life': capable of reproducing; genetically different (mutated DNA?); affected by it’s environment (nutrition, chemotherapy?); potential to live outside the original host (petri dish?); etc., etc.
Will you donate to or a least support a fund for providing burial and/or some sort of memorial services for every late menstrual activity that purged a fertilized egg? If so, you’d need over 400% more funding for this ‘industry’.
Are you saying that a woman (knowing she was late and possibly pregnant) who wore heels and tripped down some stairs should be charged with child endangerment? If doctors said she had a condition that made her a 50% risk of fatality in childbirth (carrying long enough for viability), shouldn’t she terminate in self-defense? It is truly a slippery slope!
Since you say killing in a war to “protect national interests” is not murder, aren’t you suggesting that it would also not be murder if we eliminated you for the same reason?
I could go on and on, but we all know what the effect and outcome of that would be … absolutely nothing excepting the humor found by some in trolling a troll.

To everyone else: the mass of cells calling itself Greg is obviously a zombie. Though it might seem that it has some intelligence, we can also recognize the very well camouflaged conditioning and parroting. Now we have two options — we can go the route depicted at the end of the movie “Shawn of the Dead” (retraining and restraining to perform simple labor) — or we can use what has been shown in every other zombie movie. (Jeez … I even cracked myself up with that one LOL)

    • http://www.lonewolfwoman.com Opal Wolf

Greg, then what do you think of all the people killed in illegal wars ? Isn’t that murder too ?

  • Bob Cull

This woman is a total idiot! No surprise there, she is, after all a Tea Partier, but to say that a woman who aborts the child of her rapist should get just as much jail time as the rapist is beyond the pale! When she makes a proposal such as this she only proves what we all know to be true and that is that the Teapubs, for all of their ranting about tyranny want to impose their own tyranny on the rest of us. It is never going to happen!
