According to Fox host Jeanine Pirro, Fox viewers support authoritarianism and, unsurprisingly, lack sympathy with minority communities.
Pirro, while wrapping up her show Justice with Judge Jeanine, recited the results of a Fox “Instapoll,” which asked viewers if police “need to be retrained on how to be sensitive to the minority community.”
Because Pirro was being cute, she put “minority” in air-quote while she was reading it. You know, sort of like I do when I say Fox “news.”
According to Pirro, the response from Fox viewers was “overwhelmingly in favor of law enforcement.”
If you were expecting something different, you should probably be checking your pulse. Authoritarians supporting authoritarianism? Le gasp*!
Pirro then listed off comments from the viewers, quoting Fox viewer “Jeff” who wrote in questioning why it was “always necessary to tip toe around the minority community.” Viewer “Larry” added, “No. Enough is enough. The general public needs to be more sensitive to the police and show them the respect they deserve.”
Then perhaps they need act more professionally than the criminals they arrest? I don’t know, I’m just throwing that out there. I like my cops to be a better quality of individual than the criminals they arrest.
Viewer “Jordan,” however, disagreed, noting “Yes. Those cops were racially profiling.” Pirro reacted with this brush against reality like potassium reacting with water; she condescendingly mocked Jordan, saying “Hey Jordan, you don’t eve know what racial profiling is,” and “That’s when race is used to engage law enforcement in the minority community. But offender profiling is when an offender is ID’d by a description including his race, which is the only way to investigate some of these cases.”
Viewer Ann likewise disagreed, writing ” Sure do… I seriously doubt this man would have been treated so harsh if he were white.”
Pirro dismissed the comment, saying “you’re wrong” and adding “Did you notice the African-American cop standing around?”
You can argue that cops might do this to a White person, but you know who they’ll never do this too?
A rich White person.
