A Detroit Michigan fast-food restaurant, Moo Cluck Moo, offers $15.00 per hour to its employees, acknowledging the fact that $7.40 is not near enough to support a living.
“It just feels human to do it,” says co-founder Brian Parker. Parker started his employees’ wages at $12.00 per hour but as of October 1st, he bumped the starting wages to $15.00 an hour. I wasn’t tuned into the whole living wage movement, we just felt that, for a variety of reasons, it was the right thing to do, Parker said.
Come to find out, this family IS a religious family and some people claim that, “this is religion done right.” I am not sure if it is religion done right but, I will tell you one thing, it is definitely the right thing to do.
