Mother Jones and Gawker are reporting that the Anonymous hacker that exposed the Steubenville Ohio Big Red football team gang rape case was raided by the FBI in April 15th. Deric Lostutter, 26, lives in Winchester Kentucky and confirmed to the Huffington Post that he is indeed KYAnonymous, leader of KnightSec, which was the Anonymous faction that executed “Operation Roll Red Roll,” exposing the rape of a 16-year-old girl by two Steubenville Big Red football players.
Lostutter wrote on his blog that he came home from a turkey hunt to see what looked like a FedEx truck parked in his driveway.
“As I open the door to great [sic] the driver approximately 12 F.B.I. Swat Team agents jumped out of the truck screaming for me to ‘Get The F**k Down’ with m-16 assault rifles and full riot gear armed safety off, pointed directly at my head.”
Deric Lostutter claims that he is the one who published the incriminating videos and posts to social media sites that drew attention to the case that had largely been kept quiet by parents and administration at the school. “The tweets, screenshots, Instagrams. … Pretty much everything you’ve seen in the media, that came through me,” Lostutter said.
In March the two football players were found guilty of raping the 16 year old girl. Some in the media showed sympathy for the two rapists, who were sentenced to juvenile detention. One of the football players, Trent Mays, 17, a quarterback, was sentenced to serve at least two years in the state juvenile system. The other, Ma’lik Richmond, 16, who had played wide receiver, was sentenced to serve at least one year.
