Noël Wells took on the role of Nancy Grace in an SNL sketch last night which did a spectacular job of skewering the HLN host for her recent tirades on the evils of pot and the inherent danger in legalizing it.
In the sketch Nancy is interviewing the owner of a bakery in Denver who is now selling baked goods laced with pot, the shop of course is called “Baked.” The owner tells her, “I started off with a regular bakery and now I’ve got lines out the door for stuff like Cannabis cookies and space cake.”
Nancy is of course appalled, “I’ve got a sneaky suspicion that you are pro pot, and I don’t like it,” she said. The store owner chuckles and tells her that last week she made over $650 thousand more than she’s made in the last 15 years, “you’re freakin’ right I’m pro pot,” she fired back. Nancy tells her that she is glad that she is making so much money while she destroys “the fabric of America.”
Sarcastically the baker replies:
“Nancy I make cupcakes that get people high — it’s like I discovered a way to make pizza cure venereal disease!”
Grace’s recurrent theme throughout the sketch is “the babaaaaaaaaaays.” How the babies are relevant is anyone’s guess, but that does seem to be the theme of her fear-mongering. Her next two prominent themes are the violence that it “causes” and the fact that, “pot makes you fat and lazy.” Nancy may want to reconsider that claim, a short list of people who have smoked pot includes, President Obama, Bill Gates and Tom Brokaw. Not to mention conservatives such as George W. Bush, Clarence Thomas and David Brooks, hardly anyone would call them fat and lazy.
