Sniveling Liar Paul Ryan Gets Stomped On Sequester Hypocrisy! (Video)

And, the “Awesome Question of the Week” award goes to… ABC News Chief White House correspondent, Jonathan Karl, for asking Paul Ryan this after Ryan tried to blame the sequester solely on Democrats and President Obama.

“But…but, but Congressman, I’ve heard you say this and this had been a talking point for Republicans for a long time, ‘this was the president’s idea’ on and on and on. But let’s look at your own words, what you said right after the law putting this in place was passed in August of 2011.  These are your words, you said,”

What conservatives like me have been fighting for, for years, are statutory caps on spending, legal caps in law that says government agencies cannot spend over a set amount of money. And if they breach that amount across the board, sequester comes in to cut that spending, and you can’t turn that off without a supermajority vote.  We got that in law.  That is here.

  1. But he didn’t say he or the Republicans sought the sequester. As the quote reads (misquoted in the blog post, as compared to the ABC News graphic), he said nothing about who designed it, who requested it initially, or anything but the fact that it was put into law. The House and Senate approved it, the President signed it. It seems pretty pointless to me to sit and point fingers about who wanted it in the first place, a year and a half later. Your headline, “The””Sniveling Liar Paul Ryan Gets Stomped On Sequester Hypocrisy! “, is not really accurate, but I think you know that.

He was clearly seeking credit for himself and the Republican party for the ideas laid out in the sequester! He sad, “WE got that in law” after admitting it’s what they’ve wanted for a long time. We stand by our headline. He did get called out for his hypocrisy and the fact that you don’t see that is puzzling.

We did change the word “into” to “in” which was the only discrepancy and doesn’t alter the meaning of his quote. Thank you for pointing out the error.

  2. Well its no wonder that WI is on everyone’s lips now that they have elected this nut job to represent them. If anything happens negatively they can always say that “Its Obama’s fault not ours”.
