The White House released below photo showing President Obama shooting skeet while vacationing at Camp David last summer.
Immediately after this picture was taken, Obama tried to confiscate his own gun.
Like clockwork, the Teabillies jumped in with their theories on how this could not possibly be true. It’s an obvious photoshop! (you know, like his birth certificate.) Why is there smoke coming out of the side of the barrel? (Like a lot of higher end shotguns the gun has a ported barrel; This is designed to reduce the recoil.) His form sucks. Why is he not shooting up in the air? Where is his pouch of ammo? We can keep going on and on. These are the same people who think Sandy Hook is a hoax because in the three minutes of video they saw after the incident they did not see enough ambulances in the camera shot. You’d think with all of the time they spend in their double-wide watching CSI that they might have a better idea of how evidence is gathered. Then again, facts and reality have not been an area of strength for most people in the Tea Party.
While the White House should maybe think twice about giving the figurative ammo to those critics who live to find fault with EVERYTHING that this administration does, it does not take away from the fact that Obama has fired a gun in his life. It draws an important distinction in the gun safety debate: You can own a gun and still embrace new measures for gun safety. Gabby Giffords is a gun owner. Colin Powell is a gun owner. There are millions of responsible gun owners in America. In fact, about 84% of gun owners are in favor of comprehensive background checks and the majority of gun owners favor additional measures to improve gun safety and reduce the number of firearm-related deaths in this country.
Nevermind that – Look how crappy his form is! What a horrible photoshop! Whatever you gun nuts have to say so you don’t have to actually have a discussion about how to curtail gun violence in this country.

This is just silly… they hate him for wanting gun control on assault rifles so one minute he’s anti guns, he goes skeet shooting and they pick him apart on that. Make up what little minds they have and do what’s right. Require extensive checks for mental health issues, violent crimes, pedophilia, robbers etc…. makes sense to me. You would want to know if the guy next door was a pervert that wore costumes to victimize children, then you would petition to make sure they can’t buy costumes and anything associated with children, where’s the same tenacity for keeping these guns out of the wrong hands? Get it together people. I love everyone on this planet and i really don’t want to hear about another man, woman or child killed for No reason… it’s heartbreaking…
So…assuming that President Obama had never picked up a gun in his life, these people really want to believe that the white house decided to release a crappy photoshop so poor than any tin-foil-hat in his mom’s basement can pick it apart, rather than give Obama the same crash course in how to use a gun before taking a real picture (the same training by the way these types swear make a person into Rambo ready to blow away the next sandy hook shooter with their concealed handgun). Really? That seems like the more likely choice? I’m sorry, you’ll be wanting to get back to waiting for the robot with Hitlers brain in it to crash a ufo at Rosewell. Carry on.
