A new video has emerged from another citizen from the Ferguson police shooting of Michael Brown. A local woman, Piaget Crenshaw, recorded the incident just moments after the shooting on her cell phone. Crenshaw had just moved to the neighborhood within the last month. She confirmed the narrative that Michael Brown was indeed not shot in the back – but in the front. This was due in part to Michael Brown turning to face the police while he was running away from them, just moments before they fired upon him.
Crenshaw witnessed all this and then ran to get her cell phone to record the police reaction after the death of the young man.
In an interview with CNN Crenshaw stated
I knew this was not right, I knew police should not even have been chasing this young boy and firing at the same time. That fact that he got shot in the face, it was something that clicked in me, I thought, somebody else needs to see this. This isn’t right.
According to Crenshaw there was a physical struggle at the police car after which Brown, whose identity Crenshaw did not know until days after the incident, ran.
Regardless of the previous struggle it is a fact that the officer fired upon Michael Brown when he was running away and unarmed. Crenshaw did not release her video immediately for fear of possible retaliation by authorities and only went on record and on air with her lawyer present.
