In April, racist welfare cowboy Cliven Bundy and his merry mob of marauding moronic militias voraciously defended the rancher’s fraudulent “ancestral claim” to keep his cattle on welfare. Sheriff Doug Gillespie has spoken out, saying that Bundy crossed the line when he allowed an army of domestic terrorists to gather on his land to engage in an armed standoff with police and federal agents.
“If you step over that line, there are consequences to those actions,” Gillespie told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “And I believe they stepped over that line. No doubt about it. They need to be held accountable for it.”
The FBI declined on Saturday to comment on its investigation into the terrorists’ actions. However, Bureau of Land Management spokeswoman Celia Boddington said that the agency is continuing to pursue Bundy “aggressively through the legal system.” She added, “There is an ongoing investigation and we are working diligently to ensure that those who broke the law are held accountable.”
Cliven bundy owes over $1 million in fees and penalties amassed during his twenty years of trespassing on federal property without a permit.
While Gillespie and the FBI agree that Bundy should be punished, he blames his cowardice in removing his support from the operation last-minute on the BLM after a meeting with Bundy and his family just weeks before the agency attempted to enforce a court order that Bundy’s cattle be removed from the land. “I came back from that saying, ‘This is not the time to do this,’ ” the sheriff told the Review-Journal. “They said, ‘We do this all the time. We know what we’re doing. We hear what you’re saying, but we’re moving forward.'”
“It is unfortunate that the sheriff is now attempting to rewrite the details of what occurred, including his claims that the BLM did not share accurate information,” Boddington said. “The sheriff encouraged the operation and promised to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with us as we enforced two recent federal court orders.”
“Sadly, he backed out of his commitment shortly before the operation – and after months of joint planning – leaving the BLM and the National Park Service to handle the crowd control that the sheriff previously committed to handling,” the BLM spokeswoman added.
Bundy’s supporters have encouraged attacks on BLM agents in Utah and California, just off the Nevada border. Those at the ranch are being investigated not only for their threats against Harry Reid and police, but local businesses as well. A Holiday Inn express housing BLM agents at the time the “Battle of Bunkerville” occurred received a bomb threat and numerous menacing statements made toward employees if the business continued to house BLM operatives.
Jerad and Amanda Miller, former denizens of Bundy Ranch who were encouraged by the “revolution” rhetoric, kicked it off early by shooting two Las Vegas police officers, draping Gadsden flags (the adopted symbol of the Tea Party and other extremist right-wing movements) over their fallen bodies, and murdering a “good guy with a gun” before Jerad was shot by police and Amanda took her own life.
Perhaps it is time that something be done–not just about Bundy, but every single one of his supporters. The revolution, like Bundy Ranch, is full of shit–and it’s time that these dogs are locked up before they hurt anyone else.
