Hasley Parkerson was used to being bullied, so when a bully started to taunt him for “having no friends and being liked by no one” as he had lunch with his aunt, Hasley just shrugged it off.
His aunt asked him about it and he told her that it was no big deal that it happened all the time.
She didn’t think that it was no big deal and determined to do something about it so she posted a status update on her Facebook page asking all of her friends to show support for Hasley by coming to the school to prove that he did indeed have friends.
More than 100 people showed up, there were so many cars that the school parking lot became a traffic jam. Seeing all the support he had Hasley gained more confidence than he had ever had before and said, “Sorry, I have too many friends to think I’m being bullied.”
The clincher? The bully himself showed up and was so impressed by the support being shown for his victim gave Hasley a high-five and said, “I apologize. I apologize. I take it back.”
Score one for human decency and its ability to soften even the hardest of hearts.
