The NBC show Late Night with Seth Meyers touched on a serious topic Wednesday, during its “A Closer Look” segment.
The show’s host, Seth Meyers, was confused about a bill that was recently voted down in Houston, Texas.
The law would have protected transgender persons using public restrooms for the gender they identify with.
Currently a 1972 law is in effect, prohibiting people from using restrooms labeled for the opposite sex.
That law was written, no doubt by liberals, to protect women from pervy guys lurking in public restrooms for dates.
That is actually exactly what politicians like Mike Huckabee believe will happen if the law protecting transgender people is passed.
Huckabee even went as far as to creepily confess that he too would take advantage of women if there were no laws stopping him from going into their restrooms.
Republicans are really taking this one too far.
They know damn well the law would not enable men to stalk women’s restrooms, but they know that conservative Republicans are stupid enough to believe anything they say with conviction.
I’m surprised a large group of conservative men didn’t vote for the proposition hoping they would then be legally allowed to watch women pee.
What I am really sick of is Republican men acting like they give f*cks about women’s rights.
They don’t care if women are catcalled in restrooms, they only care if homosexuals get more rights.
Because let’s face it, a homo with equal rights is a conservative man’s worst nightmare/wettest dream.
Seth Meyers delivered this message perfectly, bringing awareness to the sheer stupidity of anti-LGBT politicians.
They are identical to the politicians who were against legislation protecting Blacks during the civil rights movement era.
Politicians we now look at with disdain.
