SD State Rep: ‘We Live Under The Imperial President His Highness Barack Hussein Obama’ (Video)

The organizers of CPAC highlighted the up and coming among the ranks of far right conservatives with a segment they called the Top 10 Conservatives Under 40 on Friday.  Among those so honored was Jenna Haggar, a state Representative from South Dakota and the daughter of her district’s other Representative Don Haggar.  She demonstrated her accomplishments that qualified her for the honor by telling those gathered for the conservative love fest that we are living “under the imperial President, his highness Barack Hussein Obama.”

If only the right could make up its collective mind, during the last week they have alternately vilified the  President as weak and vacillating and dictatorial, opposite ends of the spectrum.

Her home schooling and lack of any advanced education shone through in her remarks as she told the audience that progressive policies which hand out welfare and other free stuff to the rabble among us have created a nation dependent on the government for everything, with generations living entirely on the government dole.

“America was founded by virtuous, self-righteous, self-reliant people,” she said, “we even joke in South Dakota, you have to be a strong woman to survive the winter.”

Was that a Freudian slip?  Self-righteous people are those who see themselves as superior to others, it is hardly a virtue, it is arrogance and arrogant people seldom have anything to be arrogant about.

“The people who drove covered wagons across the prairies and badlands to settle my state had to work to survive, there was no government to provide for them,” she continued.

That is not a glowing recommendation for home schooling with absolutely no formal education of any kind, she is obviously unaware of the Homestead Acts which provided those settlers with 160 acres of free government land, all they had to do was be the first to get to the piece of land they wanted and make improvements on it.

Shortly after her historical gaffe she demonstrated a limited vocabulary by attempting to paraphrase Thomas Jefferson saying that he, “warned that dependence suffocates virtue, made people tools of an impressor’s[sic] ambition.”

“Now we have proven President Jefferson right,” she went on, “as we live under the imperial President Barack Hussein Obama, mmm, mmm, mmm.”

She seems totally oblivious to the contradiction when she goes on to speak of how blessed many of us feel to live in the most free land in the world.  Which is it?  Are we living under a dictatorship or in a free land?  It can’t be both, the two are mutually exclusive.

This is the sort of person the right sees as the wave of the future, proud of her lack of education and who cannot see the contradictions in her own words.

Watch a clip of her speech below.

About Bob Cull

I'm retired and live in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate NY. I have strong opinions and my political bent has not changed since I was in high school. Most of my family thinks that I need to find a "real" hobby to fill my time in retirement, but I am content to share my opinions with others and exercise my "right" as a cranky old retired dude to express my views--which are based on many years of real world experience.

The only imperialists that I see are the right wing christians trying to force their beliefs on the rest of the country.

The plain fact that she is still alive and free to give her speech is proof positive that Obama is NOT the imperial dictator that she claims her is.

Where Did The Land In South Dakota Come From That They “Worked So Hard” For? Talk About Government Handouts, Taken From The Natives And Handed Over To Immigrants. Where Did Her Ancestors Come From?

“Where Did Her Ancestors Come From?”

The same state House of Reps, and the same district.

But before we cry “nepotism”! it might be that she and her father are the only 2 people in that district. You know how those big empty square states that suck off the government teat are…..

That’s another thing her lack of a real education has deprived her of, Yvonne, a grasp of real American history. The fact is that her family immigrated here shortly after the turn of the last century, in other words they came through Ellis Island when it was in it’s peak operational mode. It’s the typical right wing attitude, “I’ve got mine, to hell with the rest of you.”

I won’t decry all homeschooling. Some is good…some is not. It all depends on the parents ability to properly educate their children. Not all can do it…but others can. I did it for awhile when I was having problems with one of my children in public school. It sure isn’t an easy thing to do. I commend those who can do it well and successfully. I can say that the majority of homeschoolers I’ve met are the “deeply religious christians” and I didn’t fall into that group at all so I didn’t have a lot support from other homeschoolers like they do because I didn’t follow their religious curriculum. But you can vilify all homeschoolers into the same pot.

I will say though that those parents who want their children to learn ID instead of REAL science then homeschooling is the best thing for them because I wouldn’t want them distracting my kids from attaining REAL knowledge about our Earth.
