Poor Scott Walker can’t seem to get a break these days. And that pesky, liberal, lame-stream media keeps reporting on his never-ending shenanigans. No wonder he wants American voters to watch Fox News.
That’s right. In an interview with Brian Kilmeade on Fox’s radio show, Kilmeade expressed concern over how women view the Republican Party:
“The report shows that women paint republicans conclude that your party is intolerant, lacking in compassion, and stuck in the past […] At the very least, you’ve got a communications problem.”
Walker agreed that the GOP has a problem. But instead of suggesting that his party stop being cruel, bigoted, and obstructive and start promoting policies that benefit the American people instead of the Koch Brothers, he wants more of us to watch Fox News!
Instead of blaming his party for being evil and politically tone-deaf, Walker blames the media:
“There’s no doubt about it, and I think it’s driven in many ways by the mainstream media, certainly the network news, many of our newspapers here in my state and across the country.”
Walker then claims the “good news” is that the GOP can use Fox News and other right-wing media outlets to “get that message out.”
“The good news is, with Talk Radio, with Fox News, with the Internet, there are many more ways in which we can get that message out, and we’ve got to do a better job with exploring those venues.”
Because, of course, Fox News and the other right-wing media outlets have barely given the GOP — or Walker, himself — any negative coverage at all.
But wait… hasn’t the Right already saturated these airwaves with their messaging? How many more old, white, racist teabaggers and angry white men can they possibly reach this way?
Why the ‘biased liberal media’ picks on Scott Walker.
Alas, too many of us journalists lack Fox News’ strength of character and restraint. How can we resist reporting on Wisconsin’s GOP governor when Walker keeps dangling all that red meat before our ravenous, perpetually drooling jaws?
Like that time when his attempt to keep Democrats from voting got struck down by a federal judge, or that incident of “voter fraud” committed by one of Walker’s supporters! Oh, and then, Walker’s own prosecutors have accused him of engaging in “an extensive criminal scheme” to bypass election laws.
Oh, and how can we stay away from the millions in tax breaks Walker sold for a $20,000 campaign contribution; that six-page racist email sent by Walker’s aide, and the fact that he keeps spouting all these revenue-producing, click-inducing gems like “God has told me I’m chosen to cut taxes and quit killing babies.”
Until clearer heads in the GOP prevail and school Walker in the virtues of duct tape, the media will continue to swarm like flies on bullsh*t.
