Rush Limbaugh discussed on his show what is perhaps the most terrifying prospect you, I, or even most Republicans could imagine: “What if we had forty-five Ted Cruzes?” That’s right–forty-five people standing up to take America down–to deprive the uninsured of a means to get some assistance with…not dying! Forty-five people to engage in a fundraising campaign that almost topples the country.
Limbaugh points out that his side–the racist homophobic anti-woman anti-poor misanthropes on the Right–would come close to winning every vote if they just had 45 men willing to destroy their nation just to keep poor people sick.
“We learned that one guy with some supporters–ONE GUY standing up can change everything. We learned that one guy standing up can stop the status quo in its tracks. Can you imagine in this last fight if we would have had five or ten Ted Cruzes?…If we have forty-five Ted Cruzes in the Senate, we’d come close to winning every vote–and that’s what everybody outside the beltway sees, and particularly what Republicans inside the beltway do not.”
Imagine a world with 45 of this guy. Imagine the damage that could be done by a man whose priorities place funding for his reelection campaign above the good of the American people.
Limbaugh continues, correctly stating that most Republicans are embarrassed by Cruz…and Palin, neglecting to point out that most of our population id fed up with them.
They look at Cruz and they’re embarrassed, and they hope nobody thinks that they like Cruz. They hope nobody thinks–and I am talking about “inside the beltway conservative media types” It’s almost like Palin–“Oh god! Don’t associate me with her. Don’t think I like Palin. I agree with you: Palin’s an absolute ditz. I agree with you! Cruz is the downfall of America. This is what they all say to each other.”
Yes, Rush. Most Republicans–most Americans–agree that Middle-Aged Bath Salts Brunette Barbie is pretty crazy. There is also a consensus that Ted Cruz and the rest of the Tea Party Terrorists are bad for America. In fact–and this might be depressing–most of America is just tuning them out.
