Bill Johnson (R- Ohio via Mars) courageously stopped by Fox News to posit that the President needs to reimburse the American people for any costs generated for fixing or replacing the website Healthcare.gov.
“The President ought to reimburse the American people for any cost that’s associated with fixing or replacing this website,” Johnson said.
According to Johnson over $400 million has been spent so far dealing with technical problems.
Where to start?
Okay. Good idea. The DNC can begin a fundraiser to offset these costs, but first…
The GOP owes the citizenry some real money.
Starting with the most recent and working backwards and remember this is far from a conclusive roster:
$24 billion was the cost of the government shutdown.
$50 million for the multiple (and knowingly futile) votes to repeal Obamacare.
$348,000 and 1,740,000 annually for the salaries of Senators Cruz and Lee and just ten Congress folks representing the Tea Party. (Why should this country pay for Louis Gohmert?)
A cool million for Dick Cheney’s heart transplant.
Trillions for the Iraqi war.
$700 million for missing Katrina Relief Funds.
JUST FOR STARTERS.
Government must spend money to serve the citizenry. It is only when the funds are basically thrown away, then people should get angry. GOP- fiscal restraint? Ha.
