Detroit Police are investigating whether a “responsible gun owner” will face charges after a seven-year-old boy suffered accidental gunshot wounds Sunday night on the city’s West Side.
At around 8 p.m., The shooter, upon witnessing a dog attacking the boy, opted for a SECOND AMENDMENT SOLUTION to the problem. He fired at the dog (and, of course, the boy), missing the dog and hitting the boy in the buttocks.
The boy was taken to Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn for treatment where he is being treated for the gunshot wound to his rear end, and remains in temporary serious condition, police spokesman Officer Adam Madera said.
Police are searching for the shooter, who did not stick around after Second Amendmenting a child, and no witnesses can be located. It is unclear if there are any leads as to the “law-abiding” gun owner’s identity at this time.
The dog was found dead at the scene, and there was evidence of a dog attack. “He did appear to have some scratch marks from the dog,” Madera said.
This is a developing story. We will update when more information becomes available.
