Gordon “Dr. Chaps” Klingenschmitt, disgraced Navy Chaplin, bigot extraordinaire and now candidate for the Colorado legislature representing Colorado Springs, proudly displayed his obsession with homosexuality again on his “Pray In Jesus Name” show on Wednesday, saying that “in a hundred years” Jesus will overrule the recent 10th Circuit Court of Appeals decision striking down the Utah ban on gay marriage.
“Jesus as the judge will overrule the Supreme Court,” Chaps raged, “and what will he do with these two men? It’ll be printed in Heaven’s newspaper in a hundred years that God throws them into Hell.
Klingenschmitt says that while this court may have ruled in favor of the plaintiffs Derek Kitchen and his partner, Moudi Sbeity they will have to face another court who he says is:
“The Great White Throne of Judgement, where Jesus Christ himself is sitting on the throne and issuing his determination and he will overrule whatever the Supreme Court says.”
Going off of Chaps quotes, a Biblical passage which has no relevance to gay marriage, Matthew 19:4-6, it says that the reason a man leaves his parents’ home is to be “joined to his wife” and that the two will “become one.” While the quote does refer to marriage and indeed it is a part of the religious marriage rites, there is nothing in it to condemn homosexuality, not surprising since no comment on the subject is attributed to Jesus anywhere in the Bible.
One has to wonder what God is going to think of Chaps and the hatred and intolerance that he spews on a daily basis. Will his God welcome him with open arms and an “atta boy?” Will his God be proud of him for conflating homosexuality with pedophilia and saying that gays only want to get married so that they can gain access to children more easily?
Or will his God judge him as the same passage in the Revelation from which he took his Great White Throne of Judgement remarks says he will, based on his works? If Klingenschmitt is judged on his works he is going to need an asbestos wet suit for his long swim in the Lake of Fire to which he has condemned gays for being what his God made them.
