As the violence in the Gaza strip tumbles out of control, it’s proven difficult for even the most seasoned reporters to cover.
Al Jazeera’s Gaza correspondent Wael Al-Dahdouh walked off camera on Sunday while he was reporting on the dozens of people — one-third of whom are children — killed and thousands of Shijaiyah residents that were being forced to flee their home in the wake of continual Israeli airstrikes.
Al-Dahdouh is not an emotional featherweight; he’s an award-winning journalist and has covered conflicts in his hometown for years in the past. Despite the experience, however, he could hid his emotions an was unable to finish his coverage on the 87 Palestinians who lost their lives on Sunday.
