In a fundraising email to supporters, Congressman Alan Grayson (D-AWESOME) won’t back down in re his comparison of the Tea Party and the Ku Klux Klan.
The outspoken legislator has even doubled down on his original statement. In the email missive, Grayson wrote that the Tea Party is as popular as the Klan.
When pressed, he set forth the racist aspects of both groups. Grayson wrote in an email to supporters,
“Tea Party members have circulated countless altered pictures depicting President Obama and the First Lady as monkeys. Tea Party members also called my fellow Member of Congress, civil rights hero John Lewis, a ‘n**ger,’ and Rep. Barney Frank a ‘f**got.’
One could go on and on, because there is overwhelming evidence that the Tea Party is the home of bigotry and discrimination in America today, just as the KKK was for an earlier generation. If the shoe fits, wear it.”
In an age when too many people, including the mainstream media, are consumed with being polite or focused on appearing impartial, not enough is stated about the tactics, cruelty and actions of Tea Party officials and their followers.
In addition, is the noise of Unfair and Unbalanced Fox News, which presents even the most horrific debacles i.e. — shutting down the government with no end game for example — as a brilliant strategy.
Thank you, Alan Grayson.
