Sometimes, the people on the right-wing come up with something so stunning and mind-blowing that you have to stop and catch your breath. That happened on the Mark Levin show today, when Mark Levin attacked Jon Stewart for his criticisms of Israel.
While discussing the latest flare-up on the Gaza strip between Israel and Hamas, Levin played a clip by Jon Stewart explaining the differences between the way the two nations notify their people: Israel has an advanced information warning networking, including apps on smart phones, to alert Israelis of incoming rockets, while Palestinians are notified by a mortar shell on the roof of a nearby building.
While Stewart was criticizing Israel, Levin was adding his own bitter remarks, before finally cutting Stewart off and launching into his own rant:
So the Israelis are warning their own people of incoming missiles from Hamas and Islamic Jihad, among others. And the Israelis are trying to warn the Palestinians in Gaza of a coming attack as well. So the Hamas terrorists aren’t warning anybody about anything, and in fact, they’re insisting that the people in the Gaza Strip serve as human shields. And somehow this basic, human fact, this simple logic, is lost on Jon Leibowitz — I mean, Stewart. And I don’t trust Jews who change their names. Whaddya think about that, too? There, I said it. Go ahead.
Stewart actually didn’t change his name. Stuart is his middle name.
It should be noted that Levin is Jewish, but that doesn’t make the remarks any less staggering.
