Martin Eugene Hoyer, 51, was right at the end of a two-day meth binge when he went on a psychotic rampage against invisible “Mexicans hiding in the trees.”
The idiot beat on his neighbor’s door to save her from these Mexican hallucinations, and ended up severely injuring himself in the process. When lifting his leg to kick the door in, the weapon Hoyer was carrying went off.
The .45-caliber Taurus revolver Hoyer had in his waistband discharged, sending a bullet through his abdomen and into his ball sack, in the best case of immediate karma I have ever seen.
The Yakima Herald reported that Hoyer had been charged with first-degree assault, felony harassment and four counts of unlawful possession of a firearm.
The man told police he had smoked about $100 in meth in the two days prior to the incident.
Hoyer said he heard “Mexicans and Whites” plotting to rob him through an air vent in his apartment. He thought the chatter was coming from his downstairs neighbor’s apartment.
He went downstairs and stood in from of the neighbor’s picture window, aiming the gun at her while threatening to shoot her for plotting to rob him.
He then went to another neighbor’s house, whose door he tried to kick in to save her from the “Mexicans in trees getting ready to jump out and attack him.”
The neighbor opened the door just as the weapon discharged and saw Hoyer falling to the ground and saying “Ow”.
After being taken to the hospital for his bullet wound, it was found that Hoyer had another projectile from a separate incident still lodged in his body. I can’t help but wonder if he shot himself that time too.
Hoyer has a history of criminal behavior that led up to this event, and this event could have easily been fatal. Hoyer has already been convicted of four felonies in his lifetime, and is being held on a $50,000 bond for the current charges.
This incident comes in the wake of appalling remarks about Mexicans made by Republicans like Donald Trump. This racist rhetoric is dangerous for the country because the uneducated of the country will take these words to be some sort of holy scripture to be followed and sacrificed for.
In short, don’t do drugs.
