Get ready for the excuses and false equivalence from the right as they try to explain why the president of a college would refer to minority students as ‘dark ones.’ Of course we know that we shouldn’t expect any less from a college that is a longtime, proud and loyal sponsor of Rush Limbaugh’s radio program.

“They said we violated the standards for diversity because we didn’t have enough dark ones, I guess is what they meant,” Arnn said
The remarks prompted outrage from lawmakers.
Rep. Sam Singh (D-East Lansing) tweeted while the hearing was still going on:
Tim Greimel, House Democratic Leader said, “It’s shocking that a supposedly educated individual from an institute of higher learning would repeatedly use inflammatory and bigoted rhetoric. I call on him to immediately apologize to the students of Hillsdale College and to all Michiganders.”
Rep. David Knezek, D-Dearborn Heights said, “You’re the president of a college. I would expect better out of you!”
Later in the day, the college in a statement said,
“No offense was intended by the use of that term except to the offending bureaucrats, and Dr. Arnn is sorry if such offense was honestly taken. But the greater concern, he believes, is the state-endorsed racism the story illustrates.”
Another non-apology from a shameless TEApublican racist.
If you would like to share your thoughts with the college about their racist president, here are some ways you can do that:
